Luther Vandross, was a game-changer. Before him, there were a ton of really, really good black, male vocalists, that became household names, by virtue off there on legendary status..Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Teddy P, Barry White and Smokey R, just to name a few. But Luther's slant on how he arranged ballads and merged r&b with pop, wasn't done by any other male, not named Prince or Stevie Wonder. And every step of the way, it never looked like Luther was trying too hard. I call him "The Sorcerer of Soul", because he did things with his voice, that no other human could pull off.

The man "Luther" was truly loved... 💙
I missed Luther by growing up outside the US. I love this music so much!
This kind of music is a like a celebration. Absolutely love it.
I'm listening to this in 2021,I listened to this in 2020 and 2019.I didn't know about this angels voice but I knew this song many years now.I just didn't know who is singing that. It's a beautiful song and here Luther kills it. Best live and I like the people here. Greatings from Greece.
Our lives here are short and I also missed the master live. If I get to see this man again in the next life, this is once concert I will not miss again. Legend is the only word I can think of for LV. 1980's soul lives on and on and on. RIP
Gotta love the bass players, they are always in their own worlds. Look at the bass player here, dude is killing it .. so groovy !
Damn! Luther Vandross can sign is ass off. You don't find sing like that no more. RIP
Still waiting for another Luther to come along. But I think maybe there will only be the one and only. RIP Luther The Great.
I tear each time I hear Luther’s incredible voice. None other... If only I could bring him back ...
this public seems so happy to listen to him a great moment of comunion with the music tks Luther god bless you
R.I.P. 🪦 Luther Vandross
This makes me smile all day
I would have missed work all day to see this legend. Learnt too late and missed his England trips. First concert I'm at in the next life. RIP.
Look at the joy on people’s faces 🔥🙌🏾😁🔥🙌🏾✨😎💫 #singalong

Amen to that! I wish I could've been there to see it live. I saw Brian McKnight on concert in Sacramento, CA and he did a tribute to Luther by singing this song live. I guess that's the closest Ill get to it.

I miss him so much 😫😩😭😔
1981 Luther's debut album. This song takes me back to High School. This song along with "A House Is Nnot A Home put this legend on the map. Love it Luther.
LEGEND. MISS HIM. MICHAEL,WHITNEY AND PRINCE also. The 70's and 80's.
Beautiful footage. Looks like early 2000s , audience full of beautiful New Yorkers . I was only a child at the time .
You know you cold blooded when the dudes love you as much as the women do.
Bass on this song is so awesome
Absolute legend. Rest in peace.
10 years without you, Luther... A million of years with your songs is never too much. Love ya.
Black people and rhythm... the two are inseparable

I can't fool myself, I don't want nobody else to ever love me You are my shinin' star, my guiding light, my love fantasy There's not a minute, hour, day or night that I don't love you You're at the top of my list 'cause I'm always thinkin' of you I still remember in the days when I was scared to touch you How I spent my day dreamin' plannin' how to say I love you You must have known that I had feelings deep enough to swim in That's when you opened up your heart and you told me to come in Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never too much I just don't wanna stop Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much I just don't wanna stop Too much, never too much, never too much, never too much Woke up today, looked at your picture just to get me started I called you up, but you weren't there and I was broken hearted Hung up the phone, can't be too late, the boss is so demandin' Opened the door up and to my surprise, there you were standin' Well, who needs to go to work to hustle for another dollar I'd rather be with you 'cause you make my heart scream and holler Love is a gamble and I'm so glad that I'm winnin' We've come a long way and yet this is only the beginnin' Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never too much (Never too much, never too much, never too much) I just don't wanna stop Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much (Never too much, never too much, never too much) And I just don't wanna stop Oh, my love A thousand kisses from you is never (Never too much, never too much, never too much) I just don't wanna stop Oh, my love A million days in your arms is never too much
