This is the most powerful and poignant edit I have seen for this show. It's amazing.

I love this monologue so much its so well written and actor gave a stunning performance.

Thank you for the video. Loved how it started out with an acknowledgement, because most start out with just his monologue. Excellent edit. Last show I was completely into was Game of Thrones. Now here we are again 🙂

The thing is.... he is right. He has sacrificed everything. If he survives long enough for the rebellion to take over, he will willingly go to prison for warcrimes. If rhe rebel fails, early on, he will be hung after he is tortured until begging to death If the rebellion fails at its peak, he will be killed by Vader, tortured for all of his information, before he is killed by the enemy he once fought If he is caught helping the rebellion...

I can imagine this monologue fitting so easily to an edit of Lenin, or Castro, or Che Guevara, or Mao, or Ho Chi Minh; even Malcolm X, or Martian Luther King Jr. The life of the Freedom Fighter, of a Revolutionary, is to fight for something they accept they'll never live to fully see, or even see at all; it's like the old saying goes "Revolution eats it's children."

This is a damn good edit.

Nice edit, nice cut, perfect, except the sound of others voices. I know what was you goal as you tell us in others comment. But the monologue is perfect and anything else is needed. Just listen to Stellan's words. This is a just my personal opinion

I really did not get the point in mixing those two edits. The energy is completely different and it destroyed the reflective and slow emotional welling up that Luthen experiences, something he has to supress to survive. In contrast, Saw is passionate, spitting, frustrated and almost driven mad and deranged by his desire to overthrown not just the empire but all these organizations that don't see eye to eye. Whenever I did video editing for such things, in my previous career, it was important to have clear emotion through the whole edit. The entire edit, from music, spoken word, timing, the types cuts and movement of the shots, they all need to fit the emotion of the edit. This trailer is confused and so to me it falls flat. It is not the first time I have felt this way about your edits but I didn't want to be rude and put down a negative comment. Defintely review other trailer edits and see if you can see what I am talking about. You clearly have a passion for these sorts of things so I would enjoy seeing you grow to make some seriously dope edits. Best of luck!

I was attempting to create a contrast between Luthen and the other rebel cells, particularly Saw. By listing their names between Luthen and having Saw appear while he says lost, it would hopefully bolster the contrast and signify that Saw is the the real one that is lost, while Luthen is set in stone, he has a clear mission objective.

@@colonelgascon6973 I appreciate you trying something a little different than just doing the speech on its own, and I liked your choice of clips, but I find the speech so good that Saw's dialogue takes away from the focus on the speech. Good luck on your next edit!
