@@Luthais I was very skeptical about the game when it came out (given the very poor optimization at the time), but then after playing it I realized that it's just awesome. So awesome that I can't even properly hate the developers for their stupid broken anti-cheat system that banned me FOREVER just for pvp'ing with my friend on a pvp server when we were about to drop it and find a better server. So now I can only watch from the sidelines, which is a real shame.

The Horde update destroyed this game. Before it was perfectly fine (puppet wise). I have been playing DayZ for almost a decade, and SCUM since 0.8, I won’t mention PVE, but for PVP there is A lot of work to be done. SCUM in my opinion lacks in the PVP aspect, for example, it’s extremely hard to PVP someone at the airbases or camps/bunkers, because of the Mechs on guard. In DayZ when you walk into a PVP zone you’re going there expecting to kill or get killed, I understand these mechs are part of the lore but in my opinion they should only be at bunkers outside, they ruin all the fun and tactic that goes into PVP in those areas. Also, the game needs more organic PVP servers, with regular X LOOT, most PvP servers with high pop are the max loot servers with that stupid discord function to give yourself loot, it’s an absolute joke in my opinion, especially late wipe there are barely any normal high pop PvP servers, this needs to change asap. I also can’t stand this stamina system and having to stop every minute after sprinting, the exhaustion, fast-paced movement (like jumping during PVP), slowly going up mountains, etc.. in DayZ the movement is smoother and more fluent. Please redesign movement all together, it’s a game on realism yes, but it’s still a game. Encounters in this game are nearly non existent in PVP servers, it’s just a free for all, I believe they should make a system where players spawn in one part of the map and move more or less in the same direction, again I understand this might go against lore, but this system would create more interactions. But the way the map is designed, this will not happen most likely. SCUM also needs redesigned towns, each with its own vibe and style, and needs a lot more PVP areas like military camps, military bases, airports, etc.. (WITHOUT MECHS PLS) Also, the current situation with the Chinese is way out of hand. It’s Chinese players of every server, even American and European, they need to be IP locked and blocked from servers too far. As for puppets, the spawn system is horrible, and also the fact that they can now jump through windows and break doors, it’s too much, I get the PVE interest, but in PVP servers it kills the immersion and tactic that goes with entering a certain town/place. There are other issues, but these that I mentioned are extremely important ones, these are part of what make DayZ a unique and working game, and before you cry and tell me to play DayZ instead, SCUM can take a lot from DayZ if it wants to succeed, and I surely want this game to succeed because it has a lot of potential if these devs wake up.

I stopped playing with 0.95 and I don't plan to play it again. I have doubts they can fix all the problems. I lost the fun playing SCUM. So much content is just broken. Puppets, hunting, vehicles and a lot of PvE content. Since 0.5 I have the feeling the game got worse every mayor update. By now I don't see that this is fixable in any way. The development went into a totally wrong direction. Also I see or better I don't see players playing. A hell lot of players are gone.

Total different feeling. I spent last months on the game after a 5 years gap. I did everything possible. Dayz feels a lot more like shit. And that's the only serious competitor. Vehicles are ok lol. AB are ok, they're not broken (major PvE). The alpha feeling is gone already compared to other projects I know. What they're trying to achieve is difficult. You have to get patient or go away for a while. It will goes on anyway. I'm quite satisfied atm and they're lore than enough players to kill me np

I love your vibe in this video and the positivity of moving forward without all the hyped up negativity i see from too many other. Scum "promoters". I spent many hours in DayZ loving the fact that all i had to do is survive and then Scum came into my life and i built three computers specifically for both my kids and i could play it together. Scum motivated my increased knowledge in building computers and scum specifically gave me the drive to actually build a good rig, as well as my cousin trading me his 16gbs of ddr4 he swapped out of his Alienware. Just like DayZ, YOU decide what you want to do with your life beyond surviving and that's just the most satisfying part of Both games. Thanks for your continued coverage of one of my top 5s!

What you are calling 'judging' has a name in business and is known as constructive criticism. I'm sure I don't have to explain further on the benefits of that. Honestly, I feel like before 0.95, there was already a horde without having a horde. I mean if there is a bunch of wandering puppets and you run by and they see you, they will follow and the others about that hear you run will follow too. And hence creating a horde that is not a horde but acts like a horde. This is what happened back in meat grinder.

Not playing much lately. Main reason is frustration with puppets. It’s unplayable until it gets fixed. They’re big part of the game so if the system is lacking because of the puppets it just too much. I enjoyed the time when you could track the village trough scope and plan you way to clear it. We all know how it should be. They know it. They just need time. I can see they’re frustrated too when players are complaining about the encounter system but not see their vision of it. We’ll see.

I don't mind the hordes - and thing the idea is good. The implementation, on the other hand, is disastrous. They didn't have to destroy puppet spawns. They could've just added the possibility of hordes on top of the old spawn system. Puppets NEED to spawn in further away. It's as simple as that. As a man much dumber than me once said: "Do it. Just DO IT".

It sucks clearing through a bunker and having them respawn within 15 meteres after about 5-10 minutes. I'm trying to slowly work my way through and loot, so having them re-appear magically is totally immersion breaking and a hassle. I have returned to the game after not playing for about 2 maybe 2.5 years and the zombie spawning was the first negative thing that I noticed. I am a casual player who only plays the singleplayer and it's frustrating as hell.

@@Luthais also I noticed returning to the bunker after an hour and the loot still hasn't refreshed, yet the puppets respawn every 5 minutes. Such a weird direction. Instead it's a never ending puppet magic show with nothing to find.

Really, though, I agree with all you said, and I only started playing after 9.5 - the spawn system needs work. I've rummaged through empty towns and fought ridiculous amounts of zed hanging around a random barn out in the bfe. Or heard the horde roar and seen no puppets spawn, at all. Several times in a row. Or had hordes spawn without the horde sound. And there's so much outside of that which is pretty ridiculous besides. After puppets, maybe. Hoping.

Here the key thing - NOBODY is JUDGING SCUM developers. That is not the point, nobody tries to offend them, they choose to be offended. We all here for the same reason - we love the game, we want the best for the game and we want best for developers as well, even if they don't appreciate it. Nobody comes to discord, reddit, youtube comments, steam... you name it. With intent to judge, or with intent to offend anybody. Sure some players do not know how to provide their feedback constructively, and they may offend inadvertently, but even they want the best for the game. Even when they say stupid stuff in angry tone. The problem however is that developers don't take feedback well, they think it is some sort of attack on them, they turn defensive and they can't accept even genuine feedback, which is logical, fair and which would improve the game. FIRST - the fact is that they have made mistakes, we all make mistakes, we all human, they are no different and SCUM is not perfect game... in fact SCUM has loads of problems. But that is okey - nobody judges developers for mistakes, we just point them out so that they can fix them. However, people are judged for not accepting their mistakes, for being defensive, for being ignorant, for dismissing valid concerns, for doubling down on their mistakes. NOT FOR MAKING THEM, for being unwilling to listen and unwilling to fix them. SECOND - developers really need better communication with the players, we in this together, there would be no game without the developers, also there would be no game without players. This is very simple and very transactional - they take the money, they give the product. We gave the money, now we have a right and I don't mean it lightly - A RIGHT to demand that product to be delivered in satisfactory quality. I defend devs when they right, but the attitude some people have on the team is just isn't right... you don't the the customers to "ffck off and get a life when they point out that your product has issues". By the way it often isn't devs who are saying it, but I noticed there are many MODs and "community reps" who are really over the top fanatic sycophant who are brown nosing for devs for no reason. And they sort of creating cult around the game where saying anything that isn't 100% positive is a sin. Devs really needs to distance themselves from such people, from "yes-man"... if they want feedback, that is no the place to get it. And SCUM needs feedback, any "early-access" game not only needs feedback, but it is part of the deal. If you don't want feedback, then develop the game using your own money and release final product exactly as you want... if you do "early access" and "early community funding", then taking and accepting feedback is part of the deal. They just need to set-up efficient process for it. FINALLY - SCUM needs help, SCUM is not in good place as per the points you raised in your first blog. It is not too late, it can be fixed, but the time to LISTEN and FIX is now. There are solid foundation of very good game, but what was promised isn't delivered yet. And promises matter. Now I appreciate not all promises can be kept, SCUM is large and complex game with loads of moving parts and things change. However, when people say "you said A, but you did B", then they shouldn't be ignored or called stupid - developers owe them a game... whatever they paid $20, $40 or whatever it was - that is the prices of COMPLETED game. And game isn't completed. Again - I am not judging, but at very least developers owe the explanation, they should explain why they did B, and why not A, and when C will be done. One cannot go from saying it will take "at least a year" to saying 5 years later "it will take as long as it takes" after already taking the money. In "early access" players who bought the game are basically investors, so at very least developers should explain what is going on and for how much longer it will go... and they very much need feedback. ELSE - well then there is no respect from either way, players don't respect devs that makes promises and don't keep them. It then becomes toxic and devs starts hating the community they have created around the game. So the solution is that devs should be more transparent, owe their mistakes, stand-up and say "look that isn't working, that was mistake, that could be improved and thank you all for feedback, we will now analyse it and we planning to fix X, Y and Z, in release that will happen in X months, then we planning to fix W, T and G in release after that"... and so on. And this communication needs to continue... we are there to help, they just need to accept that help and don't treat it like we judging them for just expressing feedback. But they will be judged for not accepting their mistakes and being ignorant. Again people are judged not for mistakes, but for failing to accept them and learn from them.

@@Morphinem That's pretty much why you won't find a review done by yours truly. The game is too under-developed to warrant a review. I have spent my entire life working in America with American corporations, which are the FASTEST corporations on development processes in the world, btw. Some of the developing processes in America are still pretty slow despite the advantages. For SCUM, there seems to be a major lack of patience on the user end, imo. Arma3 was developed in a similar place of the world as SCUM and it took them nearly 10 years to get it where it is now.

Ok, guys, I am gonna make my opinion (which in my opinion is unpopular among others) and you tell me what you think. I think 🧐 SCUM needs to be more fast paced and less hardcore. Now, instantly, don’t get me wrong, I like a lot of features that make the game hardcore, I just don’t want it 👨‍💻 to be hardcore in a time consuming way. So, for example, if they add a feature about breaking legs 🦵, I don’t want to go to the nearest hospital 🏥 for the splints, crawling for 3 hours or so… I want to be able to craft them on my own to continue my journey. This type of features will make the game both more interesting 🤔 and complex, while not making it insanely time consuming. Also, to reduce the time consuming part, many things that are either hardly obtainable or practically non obtainable should not be in game. Again, don’t get me wrong, but I think 💭 they should give us the way to find anything we want/need in a shorter period of time. Items like 👍 guns 💪, mods, food, cars 🚙 (with a good 😊 chance of 🌥 getting one ☝️ with an engine block and 4 wheels), medicine, raiding equipment should not be really rare and should not consume a lot of time to get them. Mow, I know that you may say that we gonna lose 🎟 our hardcore game where loot is so valuable and where you have to spend so much time to build a base. But I don’t think we need it. Imagine, if a random guy wants to buy a new survival game and he stumbles upon SCUM. If he will see how loot is obtained in this game and what amount of time does he have to spend to get at least somewhat good 😊 at it, will he buy it 👨‍💻? Probably not… Most people don’t want to spend countless hours in the game. Neither they can. They want a game where they can get into for a couple of hours find something, lose 🎟 something, then go elsewhere. That’s how the game may get a new audience, new clients. What do you guys think? Do you agree or you think 🤔 that SCUM should stay extremely time consuming and hard for those, who like 👍 it 👩‍💻 that way? Be brutally honest and tell why! Thanks ☺️.

No problem with that thought. With the loot editor you can make a server a lot easier and faster. The Chinese servers is a good example. You drop in get teleported to the admin and get fully geared with what they spawn in for you and everything you loot has the best loot possible. But there is a middle ground that you can find with the loot settings so just have to find the right server.
