here in europe, lurpivs are basically the same price as every other truck, cheaper even than indy hollows in some places.

I personally think a lot of hype with Lurpiv's from Americans who complain about the price of it, and disregard it as something not worth it, are also the ones who don't realize they are obviously catering to European domestic market. And not everything revolves around Americans.

Also with 90% of all of our useless crap being manufactured in shady circumstances at developing Asian countries, I'll gladly pay 20€ premium for a product with a lifespan measured in years(these aren't there yet; I know), if it's produced in European quality standards and the money stays here.

How fitting. I just opened my Christmas present and got a pair of Lurpivs, then opened KZread and got a present from Lifted Tater.

The fact that the truck feel apart mid manual and you held it for that long is so sick Instagram skaters wish they could have caught something like that on camera

Thank you for touching on the American centric mindset when it comes to buying skate products. Yes they are expensive to Americans but the same price as nearly every other truck for Europeans

this vid is honestly a great advertisement for these as a way to practice manuals

I ordered these and had the same problem with the king pins. Also, the bushings are insanely soft. I tried tightening these as tight as possible and they still felt very loose. Additionally, after tightening them, the nut on the bottom of the king pin stripped. Their customer service has been great so far and they’re replacing my king pin. I also ordered independent hard bushings to see how that impacts the feel.

Putting hard bushings on them are AWFUL. I’ve also had to get replacement kingpins for both of mine and attempted to use bones medium bushings, Indy hard and even the Indy medium and you can instantly tell the trucks don’t properly fit any of them, and they feel absolutely awful unless you are using the Lurpiv bushings. To be honest I don’t think I will buy them again after this experience. Paid 115 for them and can’t even use them because of all the issues. I support Oski, but come on dude. Don’t rush a product that hasn’t been thoroughly tested in the field and then upcharge 30% more than reputable long standing brands.

@@TJV650 damn, that doesn’t sound good. I ordered Bones bushings at first and they don’t even fit on the kingpin (kingpin too thick). I had to order Independent bushings to try instead. I too spent over $100 on the trucks and had very high expectations.. pretty bummed.

I spoke to a rep via email and they just flat out said they have been getting this same issue a lot. They offered to send me more kingpins but I’m honestly tired of stressing about it at this point.

you can fix the kingpin by replacing the base nut with a standard wheel nut .. the standard wheel size nut (not kingpin nut) actually fits the LURPIV kingpin .. i grabbed a wheel nut from my old Ace trucks and used that .. and they have been fine so far

The no wheelbite is nice for stairs and one wheel manuals. Sometimes you do wheel bite when pinching which slows you down a lot. Having a stopping point would be very handy to hold them for longer consistently. However, one wheel mannys do put a lot of stress on the kingpin. That's how my ace classic kingpin broke. It's holding all your weight pretty much sideways so lurpiv gotta figure out the kingpin. I know it's a niche trick but I just wanted to point it out.

Grind King disruptors have similar axles, you still get wheel bite though if your trucks are loose and your wheels are big

Nice that you want them to succeed. I don't disagree but I'll save my money on their trail & error. Besides, Indy did all the work already. If I felt like something truly retro I'll buy some Trackers.

I had a feeling you would have something up before daddy ben about these. Sounds like some loctite would just fix the kingpin, but I might hold my wallet until at least summer before trying these, see if they change anything. That bit of you screaming trying to get the axle nut off with an inappropriate tool (vice grip pliers???), used at the wrong angle (hands should be perpendicular, not parallel, assuming the wheel isn't too wide to still get a grip), with truck no longer attached to the board (all leverage gone) was pretty entertaining though. I've been there before while trying to get a rusted stripped nut off a hanger -only to discover the bearing was also rusted to the axle and couldn't get it off either... I just wanted the wheel lol...

Thanks for being honest about comparing the turn to Ace. I think I'll just get the new Aces in the meantime while I wait for the "S" model of these. Riding tensor mag lites at the moment and they are stupid light.

I bout these trucks and really love them but I would have to agree on the kingpin issue I’m having the same problems with my set otherwise they are awesome

Personally can’t find anything imperfect with Indy hollows, kingpin flush with nut loose, and stock bushings… besides maybe the cheap pivot cups that can womp out

Im from Germany and i can say that the price for lurpiv trucks and Independent or Thunders are pretty much the same around here

Same here in Finland

They need to sort out a their distribution. €20 delivery to the UK. Which pushes the price to €95 overall, making it unjustifiable to give them a try.

When aces where new in Ireland in my local skate shop in Dublin the axels kept coming loose for people a lot , heard they had really really stoned people working in their factory doe in Cali

I believe that, unless the team running the brand comes out of an OG one like ACE, there's no need for another brand of Skate Trucks. Because making Skate Trucks is nowhere remotely the same as making Skate Wheels, let alone Skateboards. If Oski is actually for real with the brand, he needs experts on the field on the company. Otherwise, it will end up like another Theeve or Royal. Except that, at least in Royal's case, they got smart by getting themselves incorporated with a distributor so, once they called it quits, they could bounce back by getting absorbed by another brand from them like Krux (or at least that's how I pictured it).

use some threadlock on the kingpin and problem solved... available at home depot or lowes

That’s what I was gonna say too because I do that anyways on all my trucks just to make sure they never ever come loose unless I want them too but I’m 99% sure he realizes this is an option and is making the point that he shouldn’t need to do that yknow. There’s plenty of other truck brands and models that do not have that issue whatsoever so there should be no need for him to “jimmy-rig” a solution himself, it should be an issue that’s taken care of in the manufacturing process. I agree completely though, that’s exactly what I would do until the manufacturer fixes the problem themselves

As long as you’ve got a tool, you’ll always be able to un-screw it no matter how much loctite you use. But the rule of thumb is to start small yknow. Just put a little on the threads and see if it helps, if not, put on some more. Repeat until they don’t loosen themselves anymore

I can confirm these are expensive af in Europe 2. If you buy a pair u gotta pay shipping which is 20€ (roughly 22$). 20€ for shipping in the EU is hella high. Normally u pay about 5-10€ max. I bought myself some 149 pivs and paid roughly 115€ (130$). That’s not a cheap truck. So that argument does not really apply.
