LUQUILLO BEACH & KIOSKS | Beach Day + trying Puerto Rican STREET FOOD!
Do you like pristine turquoise beaches with minimal waves? If so, then "Balneario La Monserrate" in Luquillo is the beach FOR YOU! How about greasy, traditional Puerto Rican food with a nice, fresh cerveza or Pina colada? Then the Luquillo Kiosks are the place FOR YOU!
I experienced BOTH of these places in today's vlog and WOW...Luquillo is an incredible town in the Northeast of Puerto Rico. If you come to Puerto Rico and are looking for island vibes then this Luquillo beach delivers with their gorgeous, glistening water and their laid back environment. Even more exciting, if you want to get your hands on some authentic Puerto Rican food that's heavy and hearty, I'd say Luquillo Kiosks are a MUST!! There's over 60 different booths you can either sit down and eat dinner or go up to the barside and grab an alcapurria or an empanada to go and continue to explore.

Whatever you do I highly recommend watching the sunset on the beach behind the kiosks because it is a beautiful way to end an outstanding day.

Just a heads up to anyone going to visit this place at night. BE CAREFUL. Very dangerous place for tourist at night especially on the weekends.

@@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs more dangerous. A tourist would know to stay away from LA Perla by the looks of it. Luquillo is a beautiful beach town so a tourist would not know the danger he/she walking in to. Luquillo is one of the most dangerous towns in p.r but it's very beautiful

But anyone can get killed at the wrong time and the wrong place anywhere. Depends what crowd you get into as well.

@@2010LQ there was a shooting there like 2 years ago and 2 innocent people got killed. Bullets don't have names on them

Went there two years ago. Absolutely gorgeous. We even went to the same food kiosk! Had to have the pizza empanada. So delish! Hubby had rellena de papa amd alcapurria.

Was at that exact location last month. The pizza empanadas were amazing. And the water was so incredible. Perfect temperature. We didn't want to leave

I love Puerto Rico, last year they invited me to spend my birthday there and it's fantastic. I met el toro verde, orocovis, cabo rojo, playa sucia, la parguera, fajardo, luquillo, carolina, el yunque and many more places.

Your video was fun and your Spanish pronunciation is great. I love to see how much you guys enjoyed it and the fact that you were not afraid to try new things. I only wish you had tried piononos with crab or ground beef. If you go back to PR put them on your list.

Dope video! In Bayamón now and thinking of trying this beach tomorrow. Also, the custom of putting the tissue paper on top of the beer is to avoid the flys getting on them. Otherwise they’ll just stay buzzing around. We do this in DR 🇩🇴 also

Same here. I land May 15th and leave May 22nd. Going to hit up Culebra for sure! I want to compare PR with Hawaii since I went to Maui two Mays ago. My Birthday is in May.

You sounded great! Pronouncing all the Spanish words, loved when you said Puerto Rico and Luquillo and the "bacalaítos", "alcapurrias", which BTW are a mix of grated plantain and taro and/or cassava root ("yautías" o "yucas") stuffed with chicken, beef or seafood. Oh, and just FYI, what you called the upgraded hot pocket "empanadas", we don't call them "empanadas", we called them "empanadillas" and you can also find them stuffed with chicken, beef, seafood or with pizza sauce and cheese. Thank you for your great video!

Hi! What’s the name of the first beach? Like where exactly in Luquillo?
I’ve seen comments on Trip Advisor that a lot of the kiosks are closed. Do you know if this is the case?

There were a few that were closed, yeah. But we were still able to try different foods and drinks with the ones that were open! There were still plenty of options!
Any public showers or lockers & bathrooms at the beachfront area?
Was just there on Tuesday, august 9, 2022. The pay bathrooms showers and changing area is closed. The toilets are backed up and disgusting odor. The public bathrooms are open and decent but bring toilet paper with you. Beach is beautiful but get there early to get chairs and umbrella rental. Enjoy

Hmmm...I don’t think it was. I do know that we had to drive on a main road/highway to get there! But the drive was really quick

It's directly from San Juan to Luquillo. It's a "highway" that goes directly to one point to another. Use GPS. Other great beaches are at the south east of the Island, Cabo Rojo Town.
