I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2017. After getting extensive blood work and RESEARCHING how to improve the awful numbers from my labs. I started the harmful medication you all mentioned and not a single one is good. If you concentrate on the nutrients and vitamin deficiencies, then incorporate them back into your life along with lymphatic massages, reflexology, and diet changes you will likely be fine. I have not taken any lupus medication in over 3 years and I am back at work part-time.

I am so glad this worked for you! What a blessing. I was diagnosed in 2008. I must say in my experience, even seeing a functional Medicine Physician, this does not always stop the disease process. This was the case for me. I hope anyone listening will continue to go to their rheumatologist to get labs completed. Dr. Thomas is absolutely correct in that just because you feel fine doesn’t mean lupus isn’t doing it’s dirty work in your body. Prevention is key.

Thank you everyone for your sharing, I'm so appreciative.i have just recently been diagnosed, although I have known that I've been very sick and challenged for at least ten years. I had been blessed by living an extremely active, vibrant, strong physically, mentally, socially and creative life. I am 60 and it's been brutal in the past several years as life as I'd known had been slipping away while I was being told that I was medically "fine". I'm eager to begin treatments soon, being that my nutrition, lifestyle awareness and efforts have been a priority for many years, yet hoping that an additional approach/treatment can bring some aspect of realife.... I'm trying very hard to be hopeful and I do value the perspectives and experiences shared. Thank you so. Sincerely Miss Determined

My labs look good on pred, aza and tacrolimus. I feel awful. They are considering brenlysta on me. I just want to feel better but tired of all these medication changes also. I wish disability doctors and lawyers could understand this disease better. Living with little income causes more stress. Not being able to afford mouth care products, vit d, sunscreen products etc., Only makes life more painful and depressing. It's a horrible and vicious circle.

This sounds like my life I'm sorry, I've just after 23 years realized I've been suffering with this and was dismissed and diagnosed as depressed and anxious , bipolar etc at 15-16-17-18 when I first went in to the er over and over crying with list of issues and constant chest pain and God awful skin that made highschool impossible wearing clothes hurt so bad, my eyes, my body just everything, and had no parents to care.. They treated me so badly...and i went on SSDI before 30...but for "mental diseases" for "childhood abuse and trauma", no I didn't have insurance and so they sent me to phychiatry instead of listening to me. I've never even had a speeding ticket and these doctors and the system in general are never held accountable. I've been hurt and thorough so much injustice in life. I'm 38 now and basically bedridden and a male, and my mother has lupus who left me young and father who could care less about me has arthritis from what I learned, but mental diseases cause every single symptom of autoimmune diseases apparently so the answer was put me on psych meds 100s of them over the years as I trusted doctors, and made me sicker and sicker...I just can't understand and don't even know what to do.. I went from making 3x what I make now on SSDI to less then 20,000$ a year as I only was able to work 11 years fulltime and that was luck and self medicating my pain as it was the only way to even get outside in the sun and I didn't even know what I was taking, a friend gave me what I know now was Vicodin, but all of a sudden I was able to function, but that only lasted so long before I realized it was dangerous and not a good long term answer, but when doctors don't care or help what is one supposed to do when at 20 they are given something that allows them to function? I've never even had a speeding ticket and I can't even imagine what you have been though or how many years of my life I've lost due to not being treated properly or having meds I didn't need and how much worse this got. I just want to give up and while I have it clear what it is now, I don't trust a doctor to treat me properly and go through all that and am buried in medical debt and have no money, the best years of my life are gone all because doctor's never did their due diligence. And I could be helping people and leading a life instead I'm what they decided was "agoraphobia" ...because I said I was afraid to go outside due to the sun hurting me and my skin and eyes....how could they? And men get this less I see but it seems middle aged women are the most ignored and dismissed and after what's happened to me I can't imagine...if any of these people that judged me or you or anyone as "lazy" or this or that, knew or had to deal with this disease they wouldn't know what to do. This world isn't right...I'm sorry you are having issues. I have never tried any of those medications, but I haven't even been offered or tested for ana even with it clear that since 15 that's what was needed. Sickening
