Lupus and the Kidneys; What You Should Know (HSS)

Lupus can affect many organs of the body at different times, including the kidneys. While not all people with lupus experience kidney disease, you may feel concerned about this potentially serious issue. For people living with lupus, kidney involvement may be “silent,” at least in the beginning. As such, your doctor may monitor your kidney function on a regular basis. Dr. Kyriakos Kirou, Associate rheumatologist at HSS and co-director of the Lupus and APS Center of Excellence, will discuss these tests, the diagnosis, treatment and research related to lupus and kidney disease.
The SLE Workshop is a monthly support and education program for people with lupus and their loved ones. Learn more about the SLE Workshop: www.hss.edu/SLEWorkshop.asp
