OMG, That’s exactly how I feel about those animals. They are very weird, I always ask if a person has one before I go to anyone’s home first. Luckily all the places and homes I go to do not have them.

I'm going to guess it's because they lived in a busy city at some point or even just an area where they saw feral cats and maybe even got scratched by one as a kid. I live in a midsize Midwestern US city where there are a crazy amount of stray animals in city limits, and I can see how someone who hasn't had a domesticated cat or dog in their life growing up would find them intimidating. In our neighborhood it's pretty common to carry pepper spray in case of stray dog pack attacks unfortunately.

@@kristiroeowen In Turkey, wild feral cats all roam everywhere. Even inside the businesses and you don't see feral cat attacks. It's the opposite with feral cat behavior than dogs. Feral cats avoid human contact and run away from humans and don't just go up to random strangers. I bet you the cat was more afraid of Lupita, then Lupita of the cat. I think the cat owner had to actually acclimate the movie star cat to Lupita and have the cat spend a lot of time with Lupita so the cat could actually trust Lupita. Not the other way around.🙄🙄🙄🙄

@@lunaaquafina3754I agree. I just meant that sometimes people who are afraid of cats may have had a bad experience with a cat that scratched them or hissed at them as a kid.

Maybe it's cultural; here in Kenya people don't tend to keep cats and if they do it is more for mousing than as "pets" in the American sense. Cats here generally remain outside and find their own food.

Lupita actually grew up in Kenya from age 3 or so...she has already said she had culture shock when she moved to the US over things like how casually people dress in public, so the fact that kenyans dont necessarily keep house cats. Based on your comment, i looked it up and i found someone talking about how cats in Kenya are basically for pest control. thanks so much for your context!!! ❤ Sharing is caring 😊
