Air India, has always been serving food for free on all its flights and you don't have to pay anything extra :) Chicken Biryani, Roti, Dal Makhani, Corn Chat, Curd, Dark Chocolate with Roasted Almonds and Orange Peel was served for lunch on my recent flight in economy class from Delhi to Bangalore! It was definitely a bumpy ride 😅 They also served Coffee and Tea, which I skipped!

Not surprised really. Let us be clear about one aspect. Food on board cannot be compared with freshly made food. Unfortunately, the food processing right from preparation to uplifting on board and then reheating( it is common for all the airline's food) before it comes to your seat is a herculious task. Except, the items like the desert, youghurt and such items which are spared from the oven. All said and done, it is where the expertise plays a vital role in enhancing the taste and presentation. Yes, I agree with you that there is a room for improvisation. Take a note Airindia!

Agree 100%..and also to be noted that many other airlines such as American airlines, Delta don't even provide free water for domestic travels. So food is definitely a luxury!

Usually, Air India is awesome with food and service. A minor hiccup, this flight.

I had the best breakfast lunch dinner and snacks in air India flight from Bangalore to New York. The breakfast was poori subji fruit salad cake and coffee, coffee was ok. Lunch was excellent nan with 2 veg kurma biryani salads both veg and fruit, yogurt, ice cream and Gulab jamoon/peda. All tasted excellent 5/5 rating. Only British airways was better among KLM Air France Lufthansa and American Airlines. The worst was Al Italia. However the KLM aircraft was really bad the DC20 which had engine attached to the body and vibration in the rear of the plane was so damn terrible.

Air India food is best . I travel a lot but has no complaints from Air India . You better travel other airlines and will soon realize how tasty is the food!

Air India is the only flight that not only serves food but also allows 25 kg check in luggage. It is my favourite airline as when u are travelling overseas international airlines offer 25-30 kg but domestic airlines offer only 15kg (u need to pay extra for 25 kg). Agar u are going overseas and have a domestic flight then pay extra for domestic, Indigo and Vistra are top of this badmasi, where I paid for extra weight but it was not made clear that u cannot take 2 suitcases, so foolish Me took 2 suitcases within recommended weight but then had to pay extra(again) for a suitcase on the airport🙄. I said that I have paid for the extra luggage, but they did not listen and I had to pay again (they kept on saying that this is our policy) Never will I ever travel with this chor airlines (Indigo) again.

Even if food was inclusive in ticket the quality seems compromised considering it was a' Taj Catering ' . Isse acha toh street food acha hota hai. ₹ 100/- mein you get superb options with taste quality and taste. For. E.g. vada pav with chutneys, Frankie, sabudana wada, Idli, upma, Pauva and even pineapple Shira!!!

I took an Air India flight last year. We were served with just two packets of sandwiches with different fillings. The food was so dry.
