I went to a huge "you are only an ID number to us" texan suburban high school growing up, so seeing a smaller lunch room makes me really envious. I bet it was harder to go through drama though, because everyone knows each other! And the back room in the caf with the couches - was that like, a seniors only space, or would people rush to claim it every day? so funny, we would never have couches like that in any of the schools I've worked in since 2017

The back room was the Senior Lounge. It was only for eligible seniors, those who are not failing classes, on suspension, double secret probation, etc. Underclassmen were generally not allowed, though by the end of the school year those rules often lapsed as the juniors would be taking over next and they needed to know all the secrets.

It has the feel of recordings of people that have all died in an accident. It may be because you know what is coming. You know life is difficult. It is a sad thing. All of these people leaving the innocence and shelter of childhood behind. They also seem morose because of this.

It was great. I was 14 in 1991. No cell phones, no internet...hardly anyone I knew had a computer. We didn't even have a VCR until around 1990 or so. I think I still have some VHS tapes of videos and stuff I recorded off MTV. No flat-screen TV's. We didn't have a cordless phone, not even a push-button phone. We had a rotary phone...no call waiting, no answering machine. Didn't have a cd player, only cassettes and records. I still have some cassettes of songs I recorded from the radio, lol. Great times.

I would do anything to return to the 90s. We were so much happier back then - life was a lot simpler. When people made plans, they kept them. When you were bored, you didn't reach out to a screen. It didn't matter what brand of clothing you wore. No-one felt entitled to opportunities or ownership; you were happy with what you had. Young people had greater self-esteem, because they weren't concerned with how others judged them. Instant gratification wasn't a thing. Most importantly, people had greater empathy, because socialising had to be done either face-to-face or on the telephone (as long as your parents weren't using the line...)

Thanks for uploading this video. I always wanted to see how people live in 1980s - 1990s outside of movies and documentaries. For me it is somewhat similar just without the advance technology that we have now and like every VHS videos on KZread people were camera shy, but now everybody is takes pictures 24/7 *giggles*. At 1:48, really hits me hard because of how much you value this VHS. It's weird that I feel some sadness and jealousy whenever I watch old videos.

So this how school was in the early 90's. I was born in the 93' 2 years after this video tape and now i am 30 years old. Thank you KZread recommendation for this video.

I've been starting to get recommended videos like these since yesterday and honestly I love this. I was born 7 years after this (not that i'm ungrateful for that) but if only I had been born in sooner I felt like I would've had a fun time here.

I graduated in 91'. When I die, I'm going back to the 80s and early 90s...and staying there forever. I miss the hell out of it.

I was born in 91’ too when the 90s was the 90s the beginning of a whole new decade the early 1990s I Love it glad born in the beginning of it right after 1990 I didn’t miss a thing my first school year in elementary was in 1996.

Despise the difference in technology,fashion,slang,and hairstyle, the kids in this video act and behave no different than kids do today. Their characteristics and mannerisms are almost identical towards each other. If you saw only video with no audio attach or saw only just photo, you would think other wise.

Omg I was in High school in the 2000s and we had a fan that you had to duck under when you walked past. Hilarious. Some things never change!

Everyone looked so beautiful, the hair, the clothes, the kindness, everything.

I was in high school in the latter '90s and I've not found another pizza I like as much as my school cafeteria's, which sounds pathetic, but, man, I've been craving it since school ended. So, I totally can relate.

Wow. That school is tiny. I also noticed everyone drinking milk. I graduated in 2000 and by that time everyone was buying water, gatorade, or Fruitopia at lunch.

Yall gotta know that you are in your good old days as of now. So make hella memories of it because you are in those moments just like these vids

I love this!! I graduated in 91, this instantly brought back the smell of the lunch room, school pizza was the best!

My mother graduated in 1991 the year I was born she didn't wear a Cap and gown she just told me she walked down there with my father to pick up her diploma she was 19 very young a teenager and my father was 29 years old.

am i the only one getting this weird anxiety-free feeling from this video?

Infinite Sky my mother had my older brother in the 80s in 1989 and I was born in 1991 the year of this footage right here was recorded my mother is the Class of 1991 being in school in 89 and 91 in high school she was a teenager went to Bladensburg High school the good old days I love myself I love this I love my birth year 1991 of this footage I love it forever and forever alone no kids or nothing these videos brings back so many good memories.

Watch a high school video on here from 1986 and you will see a HUGE difference. If anything 89-92 were very similar but you can spot the styles/culture changing. It's pretty cool.

You can practically smell the decaying 80s and the aroma of the newborn 90s.

If i was alive in 1991 i would be on my casette player listening to Mariah Carey Emotions album and excited to go home to watch cartoons and turn to new episodes of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air

I was born in 1991 that's the year I came out my mother's womb 29 years ago my mother graduated from night school that same year on June 1st, 1991 she was age 19.

Loved the whole video ..it’s pretty neat to open up these treasures now

if I had gone up to all of my classmates and started talking to them like this, EVERYONE would say how weird I am. but it’s normal then and I like that. I wish it was less cliquey and judgmental in our schools now. I grew up lacking friends that could’ve been my friends, in fear of judgment

I was bored during my highschool days. There were some fun moments but I couldn't wait to graduate and get out of there . Same room, hall ways , same faces . I remember some fights broke out at the end of my school year party

Very early 90s kept 80s fashion up until the mid 90s. I guess in the 80s it was all about 'power' or something like that, that's why the hair was big, jackets and even shirts had shoulder pads for girls, and everything was neon and colourful

i’m a senior now in high school and i like in this video how everyone is talking and no one is just looking at their phones. i wish it were like that today
