The "replica" designation only applies to the LUNA claim of being worn by the astronauts. The glasses themselves are the real thing, made by American Optical. So, it's a strange situation to be calling an actual product...a replica. It must be a marketing/legal thing that LUNA has to include the word "replica" when referring to these glasses. Adding the NASA serial number, I think, is what must require the replica designation. They are not replica glasses from AO, they are the real thing, just represented as replica astronaut gear sold by LUNA. A bit confusing, but that's my understanding of these glasses as sold by LUNA.

i own a pair of ao in 57 mm glass skull but they slide down the bridge of the nose. i need adust the nose pads or buy them in 55 mm glass bayonet or nylon versions for a tighter fit

Just to add on to what Peter mentioned and to state it clearly: Repiica means to replicate with no attempt at falsehood. These are AO sunglasses, that part is not the replica aspect. They have had detail added, to replicate the AO part from the Apollo missions. That's what Luna Replicas are all about. For something to be a 'fake' demands an attempt to falsely represent something as the original. That clearly isn't the case with these sunglasses.
