Lumintop GT Micro! WOW...One Powerful Flashlight for its Size!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this Review we take a look at the Lumintop GT Micro!
This Flashlight Surprised me once I turned it on and could see what this little light is capable of.
The GT Micro is just that... It's Micro in size but is one heck of a little thrower that fits perfectly in any pocket and is powered by a single 14500 Cell/Battery in which I highly recommend the Vapcell 14500 Gold Cell for best performance and power for this Lumintop GT Micro!
I will post links to purchase The Lumintop GT Micro and The Vapcell 14500 Gold (High Drain Unprotected Battery) Very soon.

can you measure the diamater of the battery tube to figure out if this thing can be mounted on a piccatiny rail with off the shelf accesories?

I’ve got a couple older olight protected 14500 cells, 650mah iirc and they only light they’ll work in, due to lenght mostly, is my old sipik sk68. I’m generally not that crazy about the aa size format anyway.. although I do like my fwaa and I have a get micro on its way. Recent Ali express/lumintop sale. Id already ordered the gt nano and mini in brass so it was a “why not?” Kind of thing.. although the micro is aluminum. I couldn’t find the brass option and the copper was more than I felt like spending. I could be wrong but I feel like the micro is most likely to be Resold or gifted.. I generally prefer 18650 for the extra runtime for a small bump in size, unless the light is extra tiny like the nano.. but I kind of consider them to be in a more novelty or light use class anyway.

What is the max contiuos discharge current on the protected cell you used? It seems the GT Micro gets up to 5.5 Amps so maybe a high discharge cell would work ?

I used the high discharge cell in the beam shots portion of the video.

Hi, nice video. Do you know of any mini throwers that use a single cr123a? I am interested in the Foursevens Mini Turbo MKIII but it isn't really a deep reflector like this.

is it possible to use two(2) 14500 in series to power up and extend the runtime of this mini monster?

  • @luxlumen4605

Running the 14500 in series will double the voltage which will blow the led and possibly fry the driver! Also there is no room without an extension tube to run 2 cells in series or even parallel in which the tube would need to be a side by side tube to run in parallel.

Hi jimmi I prefer the cool white as it will provide the brightest light output and further noticable beam distance.

Mine only stays on the turbo for 15 seconds, is this normal?

  • @golforfishing

yeah unfortunately all flashlight manufacturers exaggerate their Turbo modes. I bought a $200 Fenix last year and I was just as perplexed as you were when the Turbo only worked for seconds and then stepped down. I thought perhaps I bought a fake Fenix so I did a lot of research and found out about these vastly overexaggerated Turbo time claims.

but why go with an unusual battery?

  • @jseden

    @jseden

14500 isn’t so unusual.. and thetypical flashlight hobbyist isn’t exactly digging though drawers to find a cell. I’ll usually get 2 or 3 new batteries specially for a light if I get one that uses one I don’t already own and keep ‘em charged up. Also, these cells are just what’s required for this kind of light. We’re well aware that we could get something that just uses aa’s but they’re only capable of maybe 1/3 of the output compared to a liion. Typically aa light might do 250lm.. maybe.. meanwhile I have a 14500 light that can throw somewhere around 2000lm. Sure it’ll get real hot, real quick.. but I’d rather have the capability than not.

LUMINTOP DOES NOT HONOR THEIR “HASSLE FREE WARRANTY” the switch on my gt mini crapped out less than year. So I thought ok, I will just contact lumintop. After sending a video of the problem per their request and a couple emails later they said I would be receiving a new replacement around April 10....never got it. And they are not responding to my emails. If you go to budget light forum they talk about how lumintop blows off emails requesting warranty work. I never had this problem with other manufacturers like Nitecore, Fenix, and Acebeam when I had a warranty issue. Never buying Lumintop products again.
