Thanks Todderbert! Because of your review I gave it a shot. Just received my Lumintop EDC01 AAA. It’s awesome! Definitely a keeper within minutes. The 5 lumens with the diffuser is my fav feature. If you were sitting around in the dark due to a power outage that little light would turn an unpleasantly dark room into a more comfortable environment for sure. Looking hard at the Tool 2.0 now. Wonder if it’s worth waiting until next Black Friday 🤔 😊

I got one in hopes that it would replace keeping both a dollar store laser pointer and my EDC by my bed. I'm happy to say it absolutely delivered! The low is great for going to the bathroom, and medium is good for going downstairs to grab anything. Also, the rubber bit fits on my EDC (Microstream USB) which is a nice bonus.

You just made an easy decision for me. Thanks :-) I love the Thrunite Ti2, especially for $7, but I wish it had more than one mode.

FYI everyone: The very cool and useful diffuser on this edc also fits on Olight i1R2 EOS and Olight i3E EOS! That said it probably fits on all similar looking AAA’s.

A Chap Stick cap works well as a diffuser for most AAA flashlights ;-)

Got the AA version. Been using it for 5 years.

I have those exact same EBL batteries, really solid brand of NIMH rechargables!

I got one and love ❤️ it,, I can buy AAA anywhere I have it on my keychain diffuser is on it and I have no complaints whatsoever..Our Canadian Amazon had it for about $13 bucks and all of sudden went up to $33 and I was thinking WTF 🤬,,so they came down to $13.99 which is not bad for decent micro flashlights 🔦…You can’t go wrong with it and if you know Morse code you can use it that way as well with your thumb,,really neat..

I already have this flashlight but enjoyed the review anyway. I like the light but wish it had a focused beam.

Among main usage for small flashlights (1-2 A/AAA) is to illumine a road during walking. The spot is ~2m distance. This test should be made to compare them.

well all new high power AAA and A flashlights illuminate 2meters with no issue. That is why i do a 4meter test.

@@todderbert They have different light spots and a tint - what may be better and worse, depending of the taste. So it's interesting to see. ~5 meters is one of tasks for small lights. When you walk you light closer to feets - ~2 m (on a floor or ground). Another is ~1 m - when you'd searched in a dark coner shelf. These modes are important for the comparision. I use small lights on close distances mostly and mb most people too.

Yeah that is up there with The Fenix E05 and the Sofirn C01S for a great keychain AAA. I would recommend sticking with (non Pro) Eneloop or Fujitsu. EBL works but they start degrading after less time and/or charge cycles. The high capacity cells (2300-2500AA 900-1000AAA) also start degrading in too few cycles and are soon down to 1900 or 700 mah just like the regular ones. They're great to start with tho.

I'll have to run tests, mine have about fifty charges on them and their capacity is still close to 100%

Does this shine a white or yellow light?

If you feel like living dangerously,put a 10440 battery in there. It has a 3.7 volt rating and really wakes up those single battery flashlights. I have been doing that for a couple years now without ill effects but so far I haven’t used them in two battery flashlights. I don’t want to press my luck.

I have seen some that use that battery in the Streamlight Microstream with good effect.

The instructions do specify “Forbidden to use the 10440 li-ion cells, it would result in damage.” I understand of course that “forbidden” means different things to different people ( :

They are similar quality. Sofirn seems to impress for the lower price. Lumintop stays competitive with the other brands.
