Ah man, new Mags video dropped. I liked Luminous Avenger iX. I really tore through it when I was heavy into my Gunvolt phase.

Sometimes a video deserves more than one watch. This is one of those videos. You did great work with this Mags.

nice video, just wanna correct one small detail at 2:57: the majority of adepts don't outright want the humans, Minos, dead, it's Sumeragi's goal, or to be more accurate, it's what Asimov has wanted since GV1. Since he came into power at Sumeragi after the bad end of GV1, he waited until the adepts started to outnumber humans before going through with the Minos genocide policy this timeline's Sumeragi enforces. The adept masses in the cities are made to feel indifferent to Minos' situation because of the Butterfly Effect's influence, IIRC.

I see, I was under the impression it was more of a societal thing rather than just one person/group’s agenda. I suppose it does make more sense that way though after finding out that Asimov was heading Sumeragi

Thats a pretty glaring oversight to be simpled brushed off as a "small detail"

Sadly the statement does age badly

Other than the bit about the endgame story content (which i thought was pretty metal not gonna lie) i agree with like p much everything in this. Ix 1 is a fire concept that wasnt handled the best. Still a fun time though

I’ve heard most people say the same thing about the endgame. I think I was just too checked out/confused by the radically different continuity at that point to care much about what was going on

2:47 man, should have saved the twist for the last series of levels. I mean yeah the alternate timeline stuff is important, but the 100 years skip is like 100% major spoilers in terms of other things, the Mytyl twist landed very well for me and I genuinely like stopped for like idk 5 minutes just to process the fuck's up. Also Asimov was like a very hard boss for me

Look on the bright side: the "why do all of these antagonists want genocide?" part of your ASG2 video aged pretty well.

I remember when IX first came out, the Mytyl reveal made legitimately SUPER mad cuz its before they reveal its an alt timeline and I thought they just threw away Copen's whole thing of "do i become a hypocrite and decide against killing all adepts including my sister?" For a shock value twist that is brushed past after it happens It genuinly took a few months for me to not get upset when thinking about how poorly I thought the plot was done. Nowadays I view it in a lot more positive light.

honestly that's exactly how I feel too... the story would have felt much less BS if we knew it was in a different timeline from the get-go. I don't think that fact really worked well as a final reveal
