    I know I watched this a while ago but apparently forgot all about it so thanks for sending it to me. Is it fair to say that we should use this process EVERY time we do a background change? What if it's just an Overlay or Texture or we added an Object? I know you show using LUTs as a final step in composites to match things and maybe this Color Matching technique is in the Composite Master Class and I have already forgotten that too. 🤭 I just made a Playlist so that this video will be bookmarked. We learn by doing, so I'll start doing this.

    Awesome, Holly! I hope it's going to be helpful. Color matching should always be kept in mind when adding new elements to photos, although it is not always necessary. It depends on the new element, the original image, the blending used, and so on.

    You make it look so easy. Is there a way to choose more than one layer to so any adjustments made would effect the ones chosen? Similar to merging layers in Photoshop. Thank you

    Hi Tony, thank you for your comment and your question. Unfortunately, there is no way to merge layers in Luminar NEO yet. However, there are some ways to work around it. One is to export the file and bring it back to continue the edit. The second is to use the grey layer and apply the edit to it, but neither option replace the function of merging the layers. I hope it's coming soon.

    @@CleverPhotographer Thank you....My wish list for Luminar Neo would be to add the feature stated, clone tool, undo and to add Affinity Photo to the "Open In" list. That said it is still a great application for photo editing. I started using Luminar with version 3 and just keep upgrading.

    Excellent !! How would I make a 50% gray ?

  • @CleverPhotographer

    @CleverPhotographer

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you, Robert... there are countless ways to do this. In Photoshop or any other software, simply create a layer with the hex code #808080 or Hue - 0 Saturation - 0 and Brightness - 50. Once ready, export it as a high-quality JPG, and you are good to go.

    I thought by using Luminar Neo I'd be able to color match photos almost instantly but it turns out I still have to go through similar tedious process of editing as Photoshop. This kinda defeats the purpose of Luminar Neo because Skylum promoted this product as a solution to save time and cut down all the tedious process of conventional photo editing. Their ads even demonstrated their software was able to color match subject with background image almost instantly. Isnt that deceptive marketing? Thank god I was hesitant to buy this software. Otherwise I'd have to go through another hell of requesting for refunds.

    Hi Emsyaz, thank you for your fair comment. You are correct to say that there is still a way to go for Luminar NEO. But even with what is in it already, we believe it's worth the money.

    Why can't this magic super A.I. tool do this by itself? "OK computer, make image A look more like image B" In your example the process took as long as it did in Photoshop 20 years ago!
