    WHATT!!! version 9 of my favorite luminosity masking plug ins now available . I'm IN ! Can't wait to try it out!! Every version has been better and more functional. I actually look forward to post processing my photos now, especially during the pandemic cuz I can't GO ANYWHERE ( I live in Bay Area, full lockdown). Have told you before Greg, I'm a plug in junkie, Tony Kuyper, Nik collection, Luminar, Topaz, onone etc, etc. Lumenzia is absolutely one of my go to plugins, process pretty much every photo with Lumenzia in some way. I have purchased and watched all of your tutorials and have learned so much. I would love to meet you someday and participate in a workshop. One thing I enjoy using (in Photoshop) is the “auto” button on the levels adjustment because it gives a nice bit of contrast to the image. Darkening blacks and brightening whites just until they’re about to clip. On the zone system this could be thought of as taking care of zones 0 and 10. But what should I do with the other zones (1-9)? Is there a way that I can get a more optimal contrast level throughout those zones with luminosity masks?

  • @gregbenzphotography

    @gregbenzphotography

    2 жыл бұрын

    Levels is actually adjusting all the zones, unless you put a very specific mask on it (like a highly restricted BlendIf).

  • @vernonsza

    @@gregbenzphotography Thanks for letting me know. Then I guess if I want (globally) the "optimal" amount of contrast in each of the zones (I understand that the world optimal could be highly subjective here but I don't know of any other way to phrase it), then the "auto" button on the levels too would be the way to go?

    Hi Greg, does the fade slider in effect act as a 2nd (or 1st when using the Lumenzia panel) opacity slider?

  • @gregbenzphotography

    @gregbenzphotography

    3 жыл бұрын

    It has no effect on the official "opacity" (opacity/fill slider values in Photoshop). It can be used to fade the last brush stroke (including clone, erase, etc). But changes like opacity cannot be faded, you'd just continue to adjust them as needed. That said, this can be used a little like opacity because you can paint on a layer mask and then fade back to achieve the same result as lower opacity. The problem with opacity is that you set it once for the whole layer. By using fade, you can adjust each and every brush stroke, so it's a much more flexible way of building a mask carefully.
