That is the CLAAS Zerion tractor with a wood chipper on the back. (Its driving in reverse. The cab can rotate 360 degrees) Not sure who makes the wood chipper itself though

It could be biomass harvesting for power generation. There used to be poplar plantations along the Columbia for that purpose, but the closed the generating plant and repurposed the land.

В 90ые мы такую сделали в лесопитомнике только нижнюю часть. Что бы спиливать переросшие посадки тополя иначе выкопку не проведешь(переростки)

I think with a system like this you would actually be able to let the stump regrow in smaller limbs (don't know the english term) Otherwise use a forest tiller and just drive down the rows.

Since they are harvesting this crop of trees, and the stumps sprout, it saves re-planting seedlings. Since they are cut so close to the ground a seedling planter could startle the stumps. They could plant seedlings in between existing rows or in between the stumps in same row. Choices!

Wrong. You can see a german Plate on the tractor and in germany nobody makes Paper. This is not a birch tree. Those are poplars. They grow even faster and this is a plantation. The chopped wood is used as fuel for wood chip heating systems. And new logs grow from the stumps in only about 10 years, which are then turned back into wood chips.

@@thatdairyfarmer2847 My friend, I come from the industry and know a bit about it. Yes, there are still paper mills in Germany, but they produce paper for niche products and more cardboard. The chance that these wood chips will become paper is negligible, because the wood from northern Europe, and in the past from Russia, which is mainly used for paper production, is much cheaper - despite the delivery costs. You can also read about this on Wikipedia.

Это больше похоже на осину, и цвет ствола немного зеленоватым отдает. Также стоит отметить - осина очень быстро растет.
Вдоль обочин по дорогам пилить выросшие деревца удобно.

В 90ые мы такую сделали в лесопитомнике только нижнюю часть. Что бы спиливать переросшие посадки тополя иначе выкопку не проведешь(переростки)

I think with a system like this you would actually be able to let the stump regrow in smaller limbs (don't know the english term) Otherwise use a forest tiller and just drive down the rows.

Since they are harvesting this crop of trees, and the stumps sprout, it saves re-planting seedlings. Since they are cut so close to the ground a seedling planter could startle the stumps. They could plant seedlings in between existing rows or in between the stumps in same row. Choices!

Да, я сразу подумал об этом, осина при горении больше выделяет жара чем дуб или берёза, у меня папа обязательно в поленнице всегда имел 20-30 осиновых поленьев что бы сажу в дымоходе выжигать..

Wrong. You can see a german Plate on the tractor and in germany nobody makes Paper. This is not a birch tree. Those are poplars. They grow even faster and this is a plantation. The chopped wood is used as fuel for wood chip heating systems. And new logs grow from the stumps in only about 10 years, which are then turned back into wood chips.

The chance that these wood chips will become paper is negligible, because the wood from northern Europe, and in the past from Russia, which is mainly used for paper production, is much cheaper - despite the delivery costs. You can also read about this on Wikipedia.
