This song, famous for being sung by various artists such as Sarah Vaughan or Ella Fitzgerald, was composed as the theme song for the live music venue "Birdland." "Bird" is a nickname for Charlie Parker, known as the father of modern jazz (bebop). This work was created during the golden age of jazz.
サラ・ヴォーン、エラ・フィッツジェラルドなどの歌唱で有名なこの曲は、ライブハウス「バードランド」のためのテーマ曲として作曲されました。「バード」とは、モダンジャズ（ビバップ）の生みの親と称されるチャーリー・パーカー。まさにジャズの黄金期と言われる時期の作品です。
演奏している楽器は、1946年製のE.K. Blessing “Artist” モデルです。（シリアルNo. #411**)
ブレシングといえば、クリフォード・ブラウンが愛した名器として知られています。彼が使用していたのは”Super Artist” モデルで、私が吹いているものは下位機種となりますが、温かく柔らかな音色はやはりブレシングらしさを感じます。
The trumpet I play is a 1946 E.K. Blessing "Artist" model (serial number #411**).
Blessings are known as the famous instrument beloved by Clifford Brown. He used the "Super Artist" model, and the one I play is a lower-end model, but the warm, soft tone is still characteristic of a Blessing.
