We get to see the groom fully in all his masculinity yet we see the bride altered and covered, not respecting her femininity. Why?

Because they have their own definition of femininity and it is represented here as they see it, not as we see it. She is beautiful. Please do not disrespect this beautiful day or this beautiful culture. That the outside world cannot grasp it doesn't make it wrong. She isn't "hidden", altered or covered. She is living her faith and that she keeps to it on this day pays attention to the sacredness of the promises they are making, not just between each other but also with God, who they believe brought them together and guides their lives. God was with them on this day. She is clothed in modesty and that too can be beautiful. I love watching the weddings of the Anabaptist faiths. They let happiness and commitment show through much more purely than all the expensive and distracting trappings of a secular wedding. The focus is on them and on faith and on community.
