This is my favourite album of all time, and i dont think i need to explain why. Anyone who has listened to this album at some point probably gets it.

I love your analysis of Luke’s writing being private investigator/sleuth level of analysis because Ashton’s solo writing is even more ambiguous and confusing 😭😭😭

My interpretation of this album is that it's freaking mental health hour (sad), and as much as I would love to write an essay in the comments let me spare you my rambling by summarizing every song from my POV: 1. Starting line: I think I've fallen behind in life 2. Saigon: There is this moment of us frozen in time and it was good, and I want it back 3. Motion: Time is flying so fast past me and I don't know who I am in this blurr 4. Place in me: I'm so sorry that I hurt you, I understand if you want to leave 5. Baby Blue: Resorted to alcohol and drugs just so I can leave reality for a while 6. Repeat: Disassociating because of the exhausting routine days 7. Mum: Mum, I'm sorry I've lost touch but I really need you now, I'm drowning and I feel like a scared child who is crying for their mother 8. Slip away (AKA Luke Hemmings, I'm sending you my therapy bill): I know I sabotage anything good I have, I always do. And I knew you wouldn't be able to handle the worst of me, because who would? (Actively crying in BPD) 9. Diamonds: Self harm... and... I truly thought I wouldn't make it this far 10. Beautiful dream: I have this picture perfect memory when I felt happy and was with my family, and it's the only thought that keeps me going 11. Bloodline: Is there anyway to get better when your mental illnesses and/or addictions come from your genetics? And if I had known before hand could I have prevented this? 12. Comedown: Well, that was awful but at least I have people with me that show me there is more to life and me to see, and after getting help I am in this moment in my life where I can just be. (So much for not an essay, I'm sorry, people)

Thank you for making each song’s explanation so concise! Although I got lyrics and the general vibe from each song seeing it all clearly laid out here just completed the final puzzle piece.

There's just something about this album and Fine Line. Maybe it was the time they were released or something, but these two literally saved my life.

Not you giving justification and meaning for that gallon of milk scene 😂😂❤ Seriously though, you doing this reaction before you went to the concert is peak timing. Your intuitive analysis of the lyrics with commentary on the production, instrumentals, vocals etc alongside editing that includes you berating one dog having the other dog's head in its' mouth, is pure art! ❤❤

ACTUALLY I JUST REMEMBERED ISNT HE LACTOSE INTOLERANT LMAO WHY WAS HE DRINKING MILK

i was analyzing these lyrics one day (during one of your streams actually) and read the lyrics line by line because i wanted to write a story based off of it, and it ended up being interpreted as the story of a depressed person trying to get better but instead just falling down again and again, (e.g., saigon was about being so depressed you can’t even get out of bed and missing the days when you were able to be productive and enjoy things, the “good old days”, you could say) before finally learning (in comedown) that sometimes you just have to let life happen to you and find the good in the bad. i find interpretations of this album so interesting because i think most people interpret in a way that they can relate to the most, but no matter what it always comes back to mental health. loved your reaction!!

this album means the world to me. comedown always hits me so hard I’m getting a tattoo in Luke’s handwriting from his merch line that i mashed together to say “let it come down on me”🥹

I agree with you on Slip Away having a BPD brain as well. It's almost as if I'm just looking forward to people slipping away because I know they will. Like it's inevitable. And it sucks. Because it seems like you want them to go away but it's the opposite. It's like "I know you're gonna leave anyway so I'm ready when you are." I can't form relationships because I dread what's gonna come. I'm too afraid of like letting them see wht I'm like because in my head I have the idealized version of that person. And then when I think they won't be able to handle who I really am, I start devaluing them. Until I just start to distance myself from that person. And I was in this exact mindset last year and a few months ago. With 2 different people.

@@alexray_ I'm so indecisive I can't choose which lyric I want to get tattoed or if I just want the entire album title, I've been thinking about it for a few months and that's really the only reason I haven't gotten it yet lol. But I'll let you know when I do. This reaction was great btw I love dissecting lyrics, especially luke's cause they go over my head so often it's nice seeing someone else's perspective on these songs.

Mum is the best song of the 21st century. And yes, there could be a religion started from it. Its epic. And WOW i have the SAME thoughts about parents calling their kids. I have a daughter now, she is 11 (Iam 35). And forever its my task to check in with her...I already know that.

i love how "bloodline" flows into "comedown", it`s not a transition but it makes sense if you listen to the album without pauses. also "diamonds" is on my top-3, cause it`s my favourite thing when lyrics is "well i`m goona die cause of the way i treat myself" and music is "nevermind, we`re dancing tonight" at the same time. love your analysis, i also thought that "slip away" is about me-me relationship, but it makes more sense with me-lover relationship. i'd love to see your reaction\analysis of ashton's album, it has more interesting and rough(?) metaphor on it, it would be great to see what you think about it! thank you a lot!

Hi Alex :) I´m starting to see your video and in a part of the video where Louis drink milk I have a theory: In cinematography videos that I saw, the filmmakers put people taking milk cause is the meaning of losing inocence in the childhood of the character... And I think that in this part of the video, he could want to express to ourselves the things that he felt when he converted to a famous people when he was so younger and the red hat in his head is because he couldn´t to decide the way of the things turn of. I like to see videos when explain the way that the cinema have to tell a story and when I saw the Motion video, I did realized that there is a amazing director behind it, cause the symbolism are so deep....thanks Alex for your reaction, I love all of them

Baby Blue is about the escapism drugs can give... But he have given different discriptions also...but its at least about escapism.
