30 years ago, my boys were like those in the video... stoked on fishing and never missing Bill Dance on TV. I wrote to Bill to thank him and tell him how much we enjoyed his shows. He wrote a note back and included autographed Tennessee hats for the boys. He may be a big star, but more importantly, he's a good man.

He bought me a spinning rod and reel to give to my son the day he was born. We were at the Fisharama in Atlanta where he was signing autographs and I had to speak about finesse fishing and that was early 90s. Then funny comparison,...in 2014 I worked a show in Tupelo Ms for Luke Bryan. After load out, he & his manager were asking us if we were working his next that day. My response " like Bill Dance, I'm gone fishin". We high fived but I actually had no idea. Strange how life is

Thank you Luke for making this video and song. My brother and I grew up watching Bill on the weekends. Got our first John boat on the Suwannee River hitting up the holes when we were 12. Still have'em too if you want'em. Seems like ages ago after being a father living in a big city. I pray my sons can have the kinda life I had growing up

Man, this song can seem so cheesy at first blush, but it hits home and boy the memories it brings back to me. "Asking for permission to fish behind the old sawmill" ... we got permission to fish when we could, but I can't count how many ponds and lakes we snuck onto to fish when we were kids, especially if someone told us there were some bigguns in there.

When i was a kid i was forced to watch and to fish i say forced because i hated it .... id say about 6 months after the real world ligned up its firat punch for my adult life i had spiralled out of controll lost my way gound some new addictions and had no light of hope to speak of.... i was up at 6 am one saturday do to being on a week long bender and god fate somethi g decided it was time to kick me in the balls with the realization of all had Squandered.... later that day after sobering up i spent my last 60 bucls on a liscense and some cheap tackle and by the end of the day i had found peace in my heart god in my soul and a new hope and outlook ive since help some friends gind sobriety through fishing and getting into nature ..... i dont think a single one of us knows how lucky we all were to have bill even on tv

Luke's boys definitely know they are in the presence of greatness. There is another video of Luke his boys and KVD and Bill Dance fishing. You can tell they are a little shy around him. I've met KVD and Bill Dance not Luke yet but to be able to meet both those Amazing fishermen was awesome. Bill Dance is amazing to meet!

I grew up a city boy in Cali. Couldn't hunt or fish to save my life... Literally. COVID Lockdown in April of 2020, I'm 32 years old and never caught a fish in my life. Some neighbors were moving out and tossed a bunch of cool shit next to the trash can. I picked up an old Bill Dance bait caster. 4 years later and I know I can feed my family. Thank you, old man, for turning a city boy to a country man with one fishing rod 😊

My late husband absolutely loved Bill Dance. He got our boys started on Bill Dance when they were little. The oldest one is now 37 and still fishes (with his own 2 boys) but our youngest just never got into it. But I had always wished that he could meet Bill Dance someday. I'm glad to see Bill is still out there. It's good, clean, exercise.
