What an amazing person. I am sure, even in prison, her husband is tremendously proud of her. Him and all the Belarusian people

Probably the most powerful interview that I have seen from Skavlan... this guy is good, and we always have good interviews, but... this interview has opened the doors, to understand what life is like under this dictator (power... absolute power is all he wants... but he only "owns" one country... he doesn't have a clue about the world..)... hey Skavlan, thank you SO MUCH for this... it's opened my eyes.... (on a side note, the prime minister of your country... she just listened, so intently... she didn't say anything, until about half way through the interview... she was listening... i liked that...)

She is incredibly articulate and confident. It is so amazing how circumstances can make a seemingly ordinary person so extraordinary. It really is incredible.

Mr. Skavlan... this was excellent. I hope to see much more along this same vein, ie: Ukraine. Political, social and ideological ideas shared around the world. With 329 subscribers, the message of democracy and freedom vs. totalitarian regimes is achievable. I wish Ms. Tsikhanouskya good luck in her goals for a free Belarus... I will keep watching the developments in that part of the world. A Canadian fan.

I feel so lucky to live in the U.K. It’s not perfect and we have our problems, but I know I won’t be arrested, sent to prison, tortured, or executed for criticising the government. People don’t have that freedom in Belarus and in many other countries around the world. Fundamental human rights including freedom of speech, assembly, and the press, are all curtailed, and it’s really frightening to see. I think Belarus like Ukraine is struggling to come out of Russia’s sphere of influence. But it’s more difficult for Belarus because the President is essentially a dictator who is quite close to Putin. In Ukraine the President seems to be more independent minded. In Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, other post-Soviet states, they’re all very pro-European and pro-NATO and are wary of Russian influence. But maybe it’s harder for larger and more populous countries like Belarus and Ukraine, as well as Moldova which is still very poor. The Baltic counties I think are more economically developed.

This was without doubt the MOST IMPRESSIVE AND INSPIRATIONAL political speech I have ever heard from a world leader. Sviatlana’s love for Belarus and her people MElted the hearts and minds of all listening- but most notably the Swedish female Prime Minister who was sitting across from her - whose gaze said it all… …how lucky and fortunate are we in Sweden and it is beholden upon our reverence for democracy that we wish for the very same for our Belarusian brothers and sisters. Nothing more or nothing less Just the very same rights to personal freedom that we in Sweden enjoy above every other country on earth

"victory for the belarusian people" will entail putting in a CIA chosen puppet government. not sure I'd support that. shouldn't belarusian people fight their own battles and create their own organic leadership even if it takes decades for change to happen?

There are some great short documentaries on KZread, best material is in Russian language, but can recommend some journalists and people from Svetlanas team to follow. But have to warn you, it is really not that good for one's mental health. Sometimes I wish I didn't see one or the other post, because the situation just seems to be getting worse exponentially. As a Lithuanian, I was really excited for the changes in our neighbouring country and happily used to read the news when the movement started, now it is rather depressing. It just looks like the scary stories our old relatives tell us about USSR and Stalinism here. But it happens just some 50km away from our capital.
