If there's one things I admire about him is that he always sung in Spanish he said in various interviews that the spanish Language deserved a better spot globally he acknowledge that english was an easier language to penetrate in different countries but not impossible for the spanish language to attain same status.People say that during the latin explosion people put more attention to "spanish music" but that is not true since they were "latin" artist singing singing "english songs" which basically proved Luis point people pay more attention to english.Luis is the only one who tried to get english speaker and other languages to pay attention to spanish music.

I always wonder what would've been if he done the crossover like the rest.But that will prove that he is a follower not a leader.Today in 2018 i think people are more familiar with Latin music and not a Latin singer, singing english songs which is different and doesn't spark interest specifically in latin music but in the artist.The internet and media makes us hear music around the easier than back than I don't like the idea that reggaeton has caught the world's attention but at least it's spanish.

He associates himself with the Mexican culture. If one says, "I may be born somewhere else, but I love and consider myself MEXICAN". Then guess what? You're Mexican in spirit and on the flesh. His father was spanish and his mother was italian, many people have argue that due to being born in Puerto Rico and from european parents he wasn't mexican. However he's known as 'El Sol de México' and is loved by all ❤ I don't know if it's available for foreign countries, but you can watch his new series on netflix, since it's based on his life and maybe you can learn more about him. He is a latino legend... he DATED MARIAH CAREY for a few years in the 90s ... he is child actor /singer. Now theres a tv series in Netflix about his life.... PS: You could google his name while doing the vid with your phone LOL

He has fantastic sustain and he is very known for his iconic tone in his mid and upper register. His voice is also very recording friendly. I don't know if you guys know this fantastic funk group, but he had Tower of Power's hornline and rhythm section in his song Que Nivel de Mujer off his album Aries. He did a lot of funky stuff when he was younger and slowly transitioned to this slower more romantic stuff as he got older. He sounds fantastic either way, and he always mixed the two styles live for his concerts.

Its the ending part of the medley of the concert that’s why it is non structured!

He's not saying ''shout out'' but rather ''solo'' ie ''alone''. This was at the end of a highly-praised medley comprising songs from his teenage years hence the 80's keyboard. He sings in a very neutral and formal Mexican Spanish accent but one can also hear a slight Flamenco vibrato inherited from his Spaniard father who was also a singer. I think it is this mix of cultures that is what sounds to you as Portuguese, though it is anything but Portuguese. Luis, being an immigrant to Mexico as a kid, one can hear his Iberian accent and Flamenco singing-style more clearly at the start of his career in videos from that age and that accent has mostly disappeared through the years.

Mrk Curtny I give you props for your interpretation as it makes sense - however, this is also why it is often very difficult to translate songs without them losing meaning, emotion, and lyrical congruence with the musical arrangements . For general reference, that whole last half was improv - not part of the studio track. The song's about him reminiscing and bemoaning a friend's-with-benefits relationship that he did not know how to grow into something more. It is in this state of anguish during the improv that he exclaims ''solo'' (alone, lonely, only). I gather from the tempo and ambiance that this ''solo'' refers to him feeling alone/lonely. And with the last phrase, he puts her on a pedestal; ''Amiga, solo, solo tu!'' ie ''(my) friend, only, only you!'' - meaning she's the one in his heart. Both our interpretations are literally correct; mine, with the contextually emotional meaning and yours as a prolonged preamble to, ''only you''. I'm a native Spanish-speaker and you may be as well...I'm just submitting that most of us see it my way. Much props to you regardless - I grant you, I had never interpreted that segment your way, but...it makes sense. Literal Vs lyrical...hence interpretation. 🤔

In this case he did mean "only" because that is what the song says. Solo tu/Only you. If he said "solo yo" you could have gotten away with saying he meant "alone".

I first found out about Luis Miguel while watching the movie Speechless in the early 90s and although I didn’t know Spanish I was amazed at his voice. Fast forward to today, I have 10+ albums of his, saw him in concert twice, and my wife and I will be seeing him again this month in Dallas. Luis Miguel is without a doubt my favorite singer!! Thanks for the react vid and please do more of LuisMi!! Some options are No Se Tu, Hasta Que Me Olvides, Por Debajo De La Mesa, Amarte Es Un Placer, Me Niego A Ester Solo, Suave, Suena, and Hasta El Fin!!!!!

Being born in a country doesn't necessarily mean you are from that country you idiot. He was born in PR but he never grew up there, he was born there by accident. Have you heard him speak Spanish? He sounds like a Mexican man never a Puerto Rican. He grew up in Mexico since being a little kid and he owes his career to Mexico, he also sings not only pop but Mexican typical music like Mariachi and Rancheras, he doesnt sing Puerto Rican music at all. He is presented always as "The sun of Mexico" and he himself has said he's from Mexico. He does hold 2 passports: an American one and a Mexican one....just because you couldve been born in Japan by accident doesn't mean you are Japanese right?
