I have the 1st set of GIVI Outback Trekker cases on a Gen2 KLR650 in North America. I love them ! I had Trax from 2010 which I thought were okay except the locks were total junk that could easily be opened by anyone. Glad to see they have updated them.

I have the Givi on my Tenere top quality . I do have many SW-MOTECH products on my Tenere and Versys 650 , both great companies for aftermarket items.

I went for the Givi Trekker Outback 48 liters for my KTM 990 Adventure. They look pretty good, easy to fix and easy to take out. The capacity is big and you can actually store all you need for a trip with your passenger. There are for Givi as well all the bags you need to add load on top or you can get a net for putting small object inside the top. Moreover several other options allow you to have an additional fuel tank or some water bottles. I really like them.

I might go with Trax as side boxes, but Givi as top-box because of the 48L version. I used to have SW-Motech older black set on my 2012 F800GS and as travelling with my wife, we often hoped we could store both helmets on top-box. I even considered moving to plastic top-box because of that. SW-Motech top-box started to make noise, it didn't fit the attachments 100% and had some 1-2 mm movement and hence the annoying noise. Combining those two, you could have the best of the both worlds with just 2 keys.

You should also have pointed out the mounting system for both, Givi is plastic/metal compared to SW being all metal. I have the Givi and would not buy again because the mounting "lock" system loosens with time, had to add ratchet straps for added security.

Givi is half the price of the SW if you know where to look to buy them. Plus GIVI just released a new line called the Alaska and looks pretty sweet. More likely I would purchase that, but still not sold on the staggered sizes because of the exhaust clearance, I love lane splitting, a big booty will make it difficult

Use the 37L on both sides. You’ll be wider at the hand-guards than the bags.

Anyone knows what license plate holder is that Tracer? I bought the Givi panniers, but mind you that they do not with with all aftermarket short license plate holders. Looking to get back either to the original or a different license plate.

I'm about to buy top box for my 1150GS. Thinking about Motech vs Givi. Like Motech a bit more I think, b ut Givi is 42 and 45 - that size I think is better then 38 from Motech. What do you say ppl?

Hey TxKiwi, We do not have any photos with the aluminum/silver colored boxes attached. Unfortunately, the bike is no longer here for us to use either! You might try a good image search for the name of the luggage and Africa Twin listed - I am sure someone out there may have a photo that will help! If we can help with anything else, feel free to contact us directly through the website! Cheers,

Hi there guys! I'am a Norwegian who has done a bit adventure riding for almost 30 years. I have had a lot of different bikes and strange set ups. But when bags came around I tried the "new" GIVI system who would fit all bikes with a big bag of bolts and stuff. And I have to say: I have had GIVI all the way in all the years with almost everyday satisfied. I'am going to sell my tenere this days for an Honda Africa twin and my workshop recomend these SW-Motech, so I guess i will try them, even if my wife find them very ugly! I am happy with your videos in here and are curious on other adventurers answer under here! thanx!

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. (Maybe that won't translate to Norwegian, but we'll try.) We think you'll be just as satisfied with the SW-MOTECH cases. As a group, we have a lot of miles with these cases, both the EVO and Adventure versions, and they've proven to be durable and convenient. We're pretty sure you'll like them too. Enjoy the Africa Twin. We're about to sell ours and we'll all be sad to see it go.

I was torn between these two, but I opted for the Trax Adventure for two main reasons. First, I love the simplicity and robustness of the SW Motech frames...the quick detachable system is brilliant, they look good, and it’s fantastic to remove the frames in well under a minute. Second, I watched the manufacture video on the Givi website, and it’s pretty clear that they infill the corners, where as the Trax Adventure cases are, as you said, fully welded in the corners with a very high tech cold metal transfer technology. I didn’t like the idea of corners not being fully and integrally aluminium, as in a tip over, or accident, the corners are an obvious point of contact. Thankfully I’ve not tipped over (!), and I find the Trax Adventure very sturdy, durable, and easy to operate. I also considered the Touratech Mundo, unfinished aluminium panniers as they look well made and quite good looking, but I really preferred the Motech mounting system.
