Luggage Rack Extender On A Budget For Harley Touring Bikes

Комедия

Used a project/garden kneeler for a luggage rack platform extender. This is for touring models that do not have the tour pack trunk. You can mount this to the luggage rack. $75 bucks for the kneeler and mounting hardware.

Hi! I’m just wondering how this worked out on your long trips? I enjoyed the video.

It worked really well. Checkout my video of the Leakey, TX trip and you'll see all the extra stuff we stacked on it. Forward to parts where I show it all. It rode good. We even rode fully loaded through the hills and twisties on the last day with no issues. The only thing when loaded like that was that I could not see directly behind me in mirrors at a stop and had to turn my head a lot to check on the sides of me. It was really wide so mirrors were blocked some. Now if I didn't have that big luggage in the center then I would've turned the backpacks to the inside and mirrors would not be blocked.

@@HonkyTonkTX oh that’s great. I’m definitely gonna check out that video. I once rode my swingarm chopper for a year without mirrors so I know what that’s like. I still to this day look over my shoulder as I find it more reassuring anyways. Thank you for sharing. I have a trip coming up and I usually ride by myself so I tie everything to the sissy bar but I think I may do something like this but may he a bit more narrow since my bike is smaller because for the first half of the trip I’ll be riding two up with a friend who’s here from out of town (I’m dropping her off in San Francisco). Anyways, thanks a lot and I’m gonna check out your other video as well as your channel now.
