My last ride on a 747-400 was in 2011, with Singapore Airlines, from Frankfurt to New York JFK. Great memories. Too bad it gets harder & harder to fly on those beauties. Theses days, best chances are with Lufthansa.

A legendary aeroplane. The last time I flew on a 747 was in 1993. Love it.

Flew from YVR to FRA this past Oct on the 747-400. Glad I got the chance to fly on this beauty one last time before they go away. It wasn't the most comfortable flight even though I was in premium economy but I didn't care. Being on my favorite plane probably for the last time made up for it.

I was onboard the Boeing 747 from Frankfurt to O’Hare and she’s a beauty

Yes flew same sector August 1998 FRA-YVR on classic Lufthansa Boeing 747-230B then on to YEG Edmonton on Air Canada Douglas DC 9-32. Over 25 years ago a great daylight flight with views of Greenland ice. Lufthansa service was great no TV screens back then! Just look at the views outside your window especially door 5 with a slight down view. Final flights with classic B747 and DC 9 for me. Great memories. Also weeks later flew America West Airlines Boeing 737-277 classic between LAX-LAS originally purchased new by Ansett Airlines, what a combination. Great memories. Ansett 727.

@@MillionMilesMarc Yes it was for me as well even better in the 1970's full quality service freedom etc on all accounts yes expensive financially but you saved and visited your travel agent or airline paid cash and had a hand written carbon ticket written. Later after baggage check in at the airport had a seat allocation at the departure gate hand written or a sticker on your ticket. Ansett 727.

@@MillionMilesMarc Yes it was and quality service lost getting old now but DC6B piston, Vickers Viscount , Fokker F27, Lockheed L-188 Electra, Douglas DC9 and common Boeing 727 in Adelaide domestic 1960's TAA and Ansett days. Now it is Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 stuff in 2023! Ansett 727.

I would love to fly on the 747-400 one day. Lufthansa is a really good airline. Great video Marc keep it coming with the awesome videos.😊❤

The only time and also the last time I flew with a B747 from Rome to New York in 1972 with TWA. Even lightning struck the plane on the approach to New York... Incredible experience

Well done to Lufthansa for keeping the 400 flying We all know how bad the pandemic was but I feel BA and Virgin could have at least tried a little harder to the keep some Queens flying.

They are building new terminal on other side runway. So things will improve in future regarding space 😊

when was it because they cut it second meal last time when I flew!

I love 747-8 is new and the interior is like 777 quiet plane ! 747 -400 flew with British it was ok but to me 777 of British was superior! 747-8 of Lufthansa is best !

I flew with Lufthansa 747 business from Vancouver to Frankfurt few months back. The plane was old, worn and dirty. Worst business flight ever. Even No matress pad, very bad food even they served the hot breakfast cold and i had to return with no apology. I can not imagine economy. On the edge of retiring these 747s LH is not putting any budget on them. There r many old uodated airplanes flying but LH 747-400s r not one of them. Plus very low quality service even in business class

Exactly. Worst I've seen in ages. I've seen cleaner coaches.

Really about time Lufthansa retired the remaining 747s or do a refurbishment, food offering looked pretty poor certainly in comparison to British Airways economy. But certainly a great experience on the 747 but a bus ride out to the gate at Frankfurt seemed very odd.

Terrible customer service ! You pay an expensive ticket and you get low cost airline services. In the Frankfurt airport their staff are usually very rude. In the airplane they are offering a small bottle of water and a tiny piece of chocolate for 3 hours flight ! Avoid them if you can.

The interior looks bad, like it hasn't been updated in over 20 years. The business class looks particularly dated. I wouldn't pay extra money for that. The hygiene is also below standards.

@@cun7us The booklet is wrinkled, BFD. There were no sauce stains or anything else on the pages. The seat in front is old but in pretty good shape for a 1999-delivered aircraft. Don't know when the last LH 744 cabin refurb was, but probably at least 10 years ago or more.

@@haroldlipschitz9301 the age of the aircraft and the interior are two completely separate things. They gut out the interior and replace it with new seats whenever there's a refurb. As for hygiene, even the guy himself said there are issues around it and indicated where. Maybe you just have lower standards.
