The music is amazing - Beethoven at his best! Wow! And the group playing it - precise, together, in tune, musical and has "punch" & dynamics. The basset hornist is superb! And the recording lets solo instruments stand out in sound and visually, excellent. The conductor coordinated the ensemble balance & tempos magnificently. I think van Beethoven would be proud, RIP Ludwig, your music is in good hands here!

I agree with you as regards performance. The music is, however, far from being Beethoven's best. Incidental music seldom is.
Beethoven's Prometheus is a magical composition relating to the mythological story of the Titan of knowledge. He is the symbol of enlightenment. The listener can appreciate the exquisite beauty in the excellence of lightness and contrasts in the dynamics. The Orchestre de Chambre Pelléas and the conductor present a mesmerising performance!

Ludwig the best
I was in a youth orchestra and we had played this piece. The conductor was amazing. I never knew how much the conductor makes a difference to an orchestra.
Wunderbar
La meilleur éxécution possible , voila comment Beethoven aurait aimé l' entendre .
OMG ! Beethoven at his very best ! A superb performance !!

fantastic performence in unison
another magical Beethoven

Fabulous!!

I just love creatures of Prometheus. It’s such an unloved work.
This blows my mind how it contains a piece of Eroica! Great performance!!
OMG.I have heard umpteen versions of THE CREATURES but this is the first time the full works.Sadly i was listening to it at about Midnight na had the volume cranked up, the neighbours came and complained. The orchestra and conductor would have made Beethoven very proud,

That conductor really got me going ❤

Well that is one of the few things that would make me watch a ballet. Beethoven made only one ballet. And only one opera - after Fidelio he claimed it a failure. But failing in such a way ..... that exceeds most peoples notion of complete success.
El mejor autor de clasiscos de Rock... Beethoven!!!! Hermosa pesentacion
Sounds like a symphony
Great music and a great performance, BRAVO Orchestre de Chambre Pelléas! So sad this opus is not better known. Many, many nice little songs in this work - I catch myself humming these tunes often! :-)

I’m wondering which score they are using for the ballet, and which for the concert version of the overture. I thought that they might have a score that includes the concert ending as a “footnote.”

After having enjoyed this music, how reconforting it is to see the conductor showing his appreciation of members of the orchestra BEFORE turning towards the audience. There are recordings with a solo instrument where I find the ensemble as important as the soloist. In some passages, how would the pianist take my breath away without the background emotion brought by strings and winds? .-
Too much editing. The camera rarely rests on any shot of the performers lending a frenetic and unsettled air to this great performance.
Please, what's the music at the beginning?
