It's absolutely amazing how a relative "minor" work by Beethoven has such an incredible coherence, logical continuity and dazzling richness of melody and inventiveness.

Glorious viola playing in the variation at 21:46 matched by equally beautiful cello variation a couple of minutes later. Very impressed by the first violinist too, technically amazing and very musical, I guess she could have been a soloist but chose the orchestral route as her profession.

1. Herzlichen Dank für den vorzüglichen Kommentar von Tilla Clüsserath, der jedem von uns wirklich weiterhilft 2. Der Beitrag von "Akim" liegt unglaublich daneben: da ist überhaupt rein gar nichts amateurhaft; vermutlich ist auch an der Tonqualität wenig auszusetzen. Dem ersten Comment von Stefan Fromm kann man nur beipflichten. Glückwunsch für das WDR-Sinfonieorchester, dass es so tolle Musiker hat! 3. Ein besonderes herzanrührendes Phänomen ist die Bratschistin, Frau Ribera: Weit über das Technische hinaus ist es wie ein Geschenk, wie sie die Musik wirklich mitfühlt und vor allem auch auf zauberhafte Weise mit den anderen zwei Musikern emotional, mit Gesten usw., v.a. mit Lächeln kommuniziert. Kein Wunder, dass ein Comment schreibt, dass er sich fast "verliebt" fühlt. Insgesamt Aufnahme von unglaublicher Qualität, die mit Worten kaum zu beschreiben ist. Danke! Dr. Anton Fürsich

Im Gegenteil, ich fand diese Vorführung ein Bisschen amateur... Aber vielleicht ist es eine nicht optimale Tonaufnahme. Cemil Akın - İstanbul

It is rather difficult to understand what you mean by amateurish. Do you mean that they are obviously enjoying it and Beethoven's wit? I have very rarely heard amateur groups playing it with this skill, characterisation and lightness. It demands technique to achieve that! What instrument do you play?
