Few people realize how sad Beethoven’s life was. He was going deaf, thinking about suicide, and could not maintain a relationship because of his anger outbursts he had due to the fact that his drunk father would often beat him and force him to play. Despite this, he became one of the greatest composers to live. Mad respect.

When Beethoven passed away, he was buried in a churchyard. A couple days later, the town drunk was walking through the cemetery and heard some strange noise coming from the area where Beethoven was buried. Terrified, the drunk ran and got the priest to come and listen to it. The priest bent close to the grave and heard some faint, unrecognizable music coming from the grave. Frightened, the priest ran and got the town magistrate. When the magistrate arrived, he bent his ear to the grave, listened for a moment, and said, "Ah, yes, that's Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, being played backwards." He listened a while longer, and said, "There's the Eighth Symphony, and it's backwards, too. Most puzzling." So the magistrate kept listening; "There's the Seventh... the Sixth... the Fifth..." Suddenly the realization of what was happening dawned on the magistrate; he stood up and announced to the crowd that had gathered in the cemetery, "My fellow citizens, there's nothing to worry about. It's just Beethoven decomposing." #copied

Fun fact, that dun dun dun dun thing was said to be the knocking of fate. Similarly, this symphony was composed around the time he started going deaf and, according to a letter he wrote around the time, starting to contemplate suicide. The first movement is in a minor key, symbolizing his dark/depressed mentality, and the final movement is in the same key, but in major, symbolizing how he used his own music to pull himself out. I really don't know who needs this, but help is out there. If you are someone going through a hard time, you can choose to make it out. Beethoven was completely deaf when he composed his final symphony. That symphony was Ode to Joy. He made peace with his fate and found joy in that. People care about you, remember that. -Sincerely, some random stranger on the internet

😢😢😢 this symphony is really SOMETHING! Most people recognize it from the first seconds, but it's every moment ingeniously composed! for example the when I listen the Coda it's unbelievable, how Beethoven even managed to come to this idea to compose such an ending! 😨 I should say that this is an anthem for all of the musics composed during the centuries! 😭

My mother has recently lost much of her hearing. I can no longer share music with her because she cannot hear all the notes and tones. She said it doesn't sound good anymore. This really breaks my heart as my mother always loved to sing. So you're 100% correct. We all take our hearing for granted until it is too late.

my dad wad a great listener of classical music. this was one of his favorite pieces. he loved sitting in his recliner after work and and listening to this on our old stereo system when we lived out at the ranch. he loved all classical music but Beethoven seemed to be his favorite so to this i dedicate to my dad. he passed away yesterday. he never smoked or drank a day in his life. he was 100 years old. if i can be half the man my dad was then i will feel blessed. god bless you dad. this piece is for you. Fair opinion, but a lot of people would argue against that, taking the side of Mozart. Myself included. Obviously it's undeniable that Beethoven changed the landscape of Western music (nearly) singlehandedly, but from a purely compositional standpoint... Mozart was beyond music as we understand it.

But, on the contrary, there is also a lot of enjoyable music that can be found today that are made in a garage by some guys MacBook Pro. Either way, this is a fantastic piece of music.
