As a Mario main I was rooting for kurama, but I couldn’t help but admire the way sparg0’s spacing and his DI in Mario’s ladder combos to upset it. Absolute godlike talent from both of these individuals and I loved it. Edge of my seat every single game

This matchup isn’t as impossible for Mario as it looks. Even though cloud has the range advantage Mario has ways to open up an opportunity to get in especially with his frame data and rising aerial advantage. Plus he’s small and relatively fast in the air compared to like ness. I consider this maybe 55/45 cloud not 60/40

Yeah it's become one of those conventional wisdom matchups like "oh yeah Cloud shits on Mario" but I think that's overstating it. He has ad advantage to be sure, but it's still pretty close.
