Talent comes from hard work and practice, everybody can literally do everything if they want to that's why I don't like terms like talented or gifted, they are limitations and excuses for not doing something because you aren't "talented enough"

This is one of those pieces of music that if you're listening to it while you drive, you have to sit in the driveway/parking lot to finish it, regardless of whether you can play it when you get inside or not. Thank you, Mr. Einaudi. :)

This piece of music travels me OVERSEAS (Oltremare). Wonderful !

I love this song so much. Whenever I can't find the right words to express my thoughts or fail to understand myself, I just think of this song and feel like this music contains all the words I can't find and I dont need to search any longer. When I'm suffering from stress or being close to a meltdown, I play this song in my mind to calm myself down and find peace again.

Played this at my father's funeral today as the hearse brought his casket into the grounds of the Chapel. He would've loved it...it was sad and comforting at the same time.

Questa musica ti libera la mente .........bellissima!

The simplicity of the songs are that it doesn't need the player to be very dexterous. But these arrangements of notes just strike chord with the heart. You're an inspiration for people to take up piano with the love towards music rather than seeing piano as a target instrument. This inspiration comes only from a true musicianship. Hats off.

The way Einaudi's work just reaches into your heart and pulls the strings is no mean feat, the man is a genius.

Agreed. Emotional piano player and composer. My type. I have been learning this on Piano for last 8 months. Close to mastering it. Im going to create an amazing video of me playing this in an Old Cathilic Church in Downtown Austin with other professional nature based videos. It should be awesome and a hit. Probably the only piece of music that's ever made me want to cry, but in a good way I think! Simply stunning!

My father is dying and I can't bear it, can't believe it. So here I am in the middle of the night and listening on repeat to this awesome piece of music and it makes me crying my heart and soul out and at the same time this music is the only thing which gives me a kind of peace. Endless pain and endless beauty in just one piece of music.

@@DNT1988 Thank you, that's really kind of you to ask. My father died in the same night, same time when I wrote this. Maybe I could feel it and it felt like I had to let him go. Maybe the hardest thing to do. This piece Oltremare will always remind me of him.

@@michaelas.2813 That must have been incredibly hard. English is not my first language so excuse if this comes across incorrectly. But there is almost also a sad beauty in that, that it happened in such a way, like it had to be. In some strange unexplainable but present connection. I hope you gained some comfort in maybe being close to him in that moment, in feeling through Oltremare. And I hope in time the raw edges of your grief will be gone, and it will turn bittersweet - a wonderful way to remember him with a tear and a smile. That's what this music does to me and my grief, at least. It also reminds me of my dad. All the best and lots of strength from a stranger on the internet :)

@@DNT1988 Thank you so much for your words. English isn't my my first language neither. I am so sorry that you lost your father too. Your words are so true. I knew before that I had to let my father go but I couldn't. But in this night when I was listening to Oltremare I felt that I had to and maybe he felt it too and maybe it was a relief for him. It is painful but at the same time I am grateful for that. Music often opens my heart more than anything else and touches me deep down inside. I often come back to listen to Oltremare and still I am crying while listening but it is a good kind of crying and it gives me comfort too. And your words give me comfort too. Isn't it beautiful how music connects people who don't know each other? Thank you so much for that and I wish you all the best and stay strong.

This is a boat, someone who is taking a reflexive journey, deep into the ocean. You really can hear the waves, how soft they are in the beginning of the piece. In a little moment the boat meets a storm in the middle of the whole ocean, the waves are violent and the sky starts to thunder, just like thoughts. The boat is almost destroyed but still floats, and continues the journey. Maybe the boat never returns, but who knows? The boat is the life himself and i will never be the same again

And what is also so striking is that just last night I watched a random old episode of 48 Hours- I can only tell you that you must watch it because of everything you said. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen and experienced.I think they wrote a book called Black Wave. I will try to find the name of the episode.

I don't think I would manage top 5, there are too many that speak to me. I agree on your list though. I have over 80 tracks on my ipod and the ones you stated above always jump out. I would probably add Ora & Giorni Dispari. And Run & Solo. Here we go, the list is just growing on its own :)
