On May 11th, 2019, economist Dr. Richard Vedder of Ohio University came to Franklin Academy High School to lecture to debate students of all Luddy Schools about the high costs of American higher education. This lecture set the stage for the debate tournament topic "Resolved: The benefits of obtaining a bachelor’s degree outweigh the costs to students and their families." Students enjoyed the opportunity to contemplate an important topic in today's higher education climate.
