When I was a kid back in 67, 68, 69 we would spend the summer at a farm owned by Ernie Limiatis. It is what comprises the Grand Highlands property now. We would spend most of July and August there. Limiatis owned Riverside Laundry in Miami and my dad was his accountant. I loved going up to the lookout tower, even got to go up in it twice. Back then you could still drive up there. The farm had an old Willys Jeep. It was awesome. Most of all I liked hiking / climbing up the power line cut. It was a blast. Many picnics. I have pictures. 😂. The farms caretaker was named Charlie Cunningham. He had a large family and lived in Fletcher. Sometimes they would bring their Beagles and let them loose to chase whatever through the hollow. Great times. Love y’all!!❤
