My late older brother and I went on an Alaskan deep sea fishing trip around ten years ago. He got a bite and was fighting this fish for almost an hour when all the sudden the strap that held his pole to his waist snapped and his pole and everything went flying off the side of the boat. It was a charter so everything was rented and it was about a thousand dollars to replace everything that was lost. Fast-forward 24 hours and about 150 miles in a different direction when he had another bite. This time he was not going to lose it and he finally got it on board the boat! As they were taking pictures and measurements of the fish someone noticed it had a hook in it's mouth already with line that was still in the water. They pulled and pulled until the fishing pole he had lost the day before all of the sudden appears and he pulls it on deck! He caught the same fish 24 hours later and 150 miles in a different part of the sea!! it was still hooked to the original pole and everything that went over the side. Lots of people don't believe me when I tell this story because we did not film any of it and it's crazy how many people can't fathom the fact we went and did this trip and did not film it. Spending time with your family and actually enjoying their company and not always thinking about a video you can post is something that most can't do but is some of the best times you will have and it's only ment for you and whoever was there!! And whoever reads this also but you know what I mean!! LoL

Some of these clips show situational awareness; instantly observing the event and acting accordingly. No panic or hesitation, but act immediately. Very useful when driving. You can see a lot of auto accident dash camera clips where you just know the driver threw up his hands when action was needed the most.

*Exactly* this! Also, if you're along for the ride, for pity's sake don't make a ruckus and distract the one in control. I've been in a few situations - usually in a car - when everything went to hell and only fast reflexes (and a bit of luck) saved us. Each time, I was silent and still while the driver did what needed doing. A few friends have said "I'd have been screaming in terror!", to which my response was, "That would have done what, exactly, other than adding an unnecessary distraction to a dangerous situation?" (Yes, I *do* freak out occasionally - but only later. I've had a loaded gun pointed at my head. I was calm and cool as ice - then freaked out later, when I was safe.)

The guy with the two trucks around 6:15 reminds me of something that happened to me. I parked a big uhaul truck in my drive way which was on an incline. I put the parking brake on and we proceeded to load the truck. A couple of hours later I got in the truck, turned it on and put it in drive. It made this really loud noise and it took me a minute to remember that the parking brake was still on. But I couldn't see the release lever from my seat, so I climbed out of the truck and looked under the dash while standing next to truck. I saw the release lever and pulled it. Thing is, I forgot to put the truck in park first so it rolled forward into the street without a driver! I put my hands against the door frame to try to stop it!!! I had no concern for my own safety. All I could think of was that picture that they showed me with all of the various charges for damage to different parts of the truck. Fortunately the roads curve upward down the middle so as the truck tried to cross the street (residential, not very busy or anything) it slowed it down and it didn't go further than the sidewalk. And also, I didn't die.

I think the luckiest moment I've ever had was when I was riding my bike down the road and a douche in a pickup with a bunch of improperly loaded lawn equipment came speeding past me. He didn't make any room at all, and the only reason I didn't get knocked out by the (thankfully covered) hedge trimmer that was literally hanging halfway out of the bed was because I happened to look down at the right moment. It missed me by probably about an inch because I actually felt the air from it.
