Well, eurylechus (i def spelled that wrong) is the voice of the crew. A lot of what he says is also what the crew thinks,but they just don't have the authority like eur (i win't even trying to spell now) does

I love that this animatic depicts the crew backing up Eurylochus, it's something I've always thought was missing from other interpretations. The lightning bolts highlighting HOW is a great reminder that the Storm is still active in this scene

Such an underrated song, I really like Eurylochus as a character and feel bad for him, especially when he says “you’re like the brother I could never do without.” The art here is sooo good and captures the emotions really well. The “how” flashing to more of the crew joining is actually perfect

The fact that they cared for each other after their fight, Eurylochus losing hope of getting home, and the vocal performance in that final exchange. Ugh. It was so depressing I didn’t even register Zeus’ last verse

Aaaaa finally abother full Luck Runs Out animatic! That ghostly image at 1:14 oooof. And the *crew!* The flashes of the crew glancing over and their expressions as they join in, oh that’s a looming foreboding tension I hadn’t gotten from the song, but it makes *so much sense* and adds *so much*. …And Odysseus doing damage control with as much charisma as he can pull off! Of *course* that “I took 600 men to war and not one of them died there” is directed more at the crew than Eurylochus-and the crew backing off as he does so, mollified- this is *brilliant.* and the glare over his shoulder at Eurylochus of “in case you needed a reminder -_-“ This makes Odysseus’s position much more sympathetic and understandable. And makes complete sense in combination with the composition. Literally changed my understanding of what’s happening in the song and I’m mad I didn’t realize it before, because the interpretation seems like it should have been obvious but I didn’t see it until it was laid out like this!

I’m with Eurylochus on this one, Odysseus is being way to comfortable, but from Odysseus’s point of view he now can’t trust anyone on the ship and I wanted to show that~~ it’s really interesting how the two interact in the song!!! Love this! I especially love the camera changes to the crew when Eurylochus sings his "How" section. I think it helps portray that the crew is starting to doubt Odysseus' and sets the scene nicely for "Keep your friends close"

for some reason I love Odysseus being that much shorter than Eurylochus.

This is so good! The fact that Eurolychus is the "voice of the crew" is easy to overlook but it's such an important part of how and why the Ocean Saga takes the direction it does that it's such a great thing to see included.

AHHH When Odysseus looks at the bandana wrapped around his arm when he says "I still believe in goodness" AND THEN POLITES APPEARS MY HEARTTTTTTTT

Thank you!!! Finally, a full animatic for Luck Runs Out that truly captures the spirit of the song. The ghost of Polites was an awesome touch. But I really want to praise Eurylochus’ expressions. You nailed the stern concern perfectly and the desperation he has to keep Odysseus safe. Also, the white eyes and the crew were perfectly creepy. Finally, Odysseus. You can truly see in his expressions that this is a man trying to keep it together after a big loss, and the switch from overly cocky to pained to confident is really well done!

Oh this is amazing!!! The ghost of Polites appearing for a second but then being immediately dismissed was such a cold detail!❤❤

I really liked how you showed Odysseus confidence in the first part of the song and his slow understanding of the crew backing up Eurylochus, getting more irritaded with it. It's exactly how I always imagined this song. This is now my favourite animatic of Luck Runs Out!

Oh my gosh, this is the best Luck Runs Out animatic I've seen! I love how simple and yet beautiful it is, and their designs are so cool. You can really see poor post-Polites Odysseus in his striving to both keep his men alive, and yet to keep things under control too. When they go talk in private I got chills, he was seriously unnerving! Incredible job.

This is absolutely incredible, it's perfect uuuaaarrghh. You got EVERYTHING right, from the crew slowly turning on Odysseus and chiming in with Eurylochus , to Odysseus playing it up in front of them all and assuring them they'll be fine, to then the complete tonal shift at the end hhhhhhh Great job, amazing job, FINALLY a Luck Out Runs animatic that I can fully get behind!!

Gosh, finally, I have loved this song for ages and I am so glad you released this animatic! I am so WILDLY in love with this and absolutely adore how straight-up TERRIFYING vibes Odysseus has in some parts of this video. I feel like a lot of animatics of the earlier videos kind of forget about the fact that Odysseus is not just a cute pupper who has terrible things happening to him. Just the way he was smiling while Eurylochus was beginning his little speech, being really nonchalantly, even kinda uncaring, and then getting more and more nervous as the song proceeds while still doing everything to keep his mask on and not stopping one moment being calculated

AHHH I love this so much!! I love the contrast between Eurylocus is so concerned and stern while Odysseus is all wistful optimism- and the artstyle is so pretty!! And Odysseus’s smile fading as Eurylocus brings up his concerns and it flashes to the crew being dissatisfied, and when he smiles again and it’s not as bright anymore. AMAZING animation!!

This is absolutely amazing and perfectly portrays the way I saw the scene in my head. Adding the crew one by one when they joined in, the glowing eyes, the real feeling of the crew being against Odysseus - I loved it! You could feel the building tension throughout the song and on top of everything else, your style is so delightful! Also, thank you for the subtitles - you're awesome!

OMG, ive been WAITING for an animatic that depicts the message of this song for so long 🙏 the few ones that are out already aren't bad per se but it doesnt show that the crew is questioning Odysseus' leadership once Eurylicous says something and it explains why the events of keep your friends close happens. Ive seen most KZreadrs, when reacting to the musical animatics, not realise his men are doubting him WITH his 2nd in command leading it and it pains me when they dont catch it. So just wanna say hige thanks for this, i love how you depicted it, especially when it cuts to his men when singing HOW when they join Eurylicous 🥰🥰🥰

Yesss, finally! (My Epic 101 playlist was missing a Luck runs out animatic to show other ppl how amazing this musical is). I love this animatic, it shows everything! How the situation was getting out of Odysseus' hands before he pulled Eurylochus aside, how the crew started joining in his complains/concerns, how Ody calmed them down. His face when he says in case you needed a reminder, perfect! Polites for a seconds there, that hurt. The growing doubt and resent in Eurylochus it's shown perfectly, I just love this

Thunder being in the background of this animatic really hits more hard after the thunder saga

I love that the atmosphere is the same as during "Storm" its dark out and they are all wet, the lightning, the storm is still raging. The attention to details of the environment really sells this as cannon visuals to me.

I've seen a few animations. But this is the first one that really cements for me the danger Odysseus is in regarding the men and the doubts arising after the Cyclops. Him talking himself up as the guy who got 600 people homes makes more sense if he's upholding moral on a restless ship instead of talking one on one with Eury.

That Polites ghost was FOUL. I am screaming crying and throwing up because of you. Foul I tell you.

Ohh nice! Finally another person to make an animatic for this song! Why no one does it idk..good portrayal btw, Odysseus' expressions show his hubris that just makes me want to shake him to snap out of it! I'm with Eurylochus with this one but telling Odysseus of in front of the crew can cause low morale and distrust which he really would have talked about with Odysseus privately first.. which of course led to Odysseus shutting him down privately, wrong wording for Ody here...

Especially love expressions being so stark and the symbolism with Polites, having the details of the ongoing storms with them showing people who I'd suspect would be the one who'd open the bag in Keep Your Friends Close if you decided to make a version of that animatic. This is!!! So good!!! I was literally JUST thinking about this song and visualizing it, your animatic does a fantastic job of portraying the events and the characters' motivations/emotions. I especially love the demeanor change in Ody after the men start joining Eurylochus in his questioning, putting on a front for the rest of the crew before pulling Eurylochus aside like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING ARE YOU _TRYING_ TO START A MUTINY"

The way you showed that Euryluchos is the voice of the crew and that he expressing doubt is really worrying bc it signifies that the entire crew is having those thoughts?? And how it leads to the disobeying Odysseus orders in Keep Your Friends Close and how that doubt lead to basically 80% of the crew dying

This is perfect. Perfect setting. Perfect escalation showing the crew physically backing up Eurylochus as the backing vocals join. Perfect representation of Odysseus being confident and cocky on the deck, but more frayed when he takes Eurylochus to task below deck. Just chef's kiss. Bravo

I love how the characters' movements match the lyrics; like Eurylochus pulling Odysseus back and the sailors looking suspicious. Great job, Jen!

Lamp's Luck Runs Out is good and I like it. But, I think this is a better fit for the overall animatic style the fandom has developed. Like whenever I would show friends/family the animatics I would usually have to preface this song with a heads up that it was very different. Thanks for doing this! I really like how you captured that Eurylochus is gradually swaying the crew against Odysseus.

I feel like this depicts the danger of mutiny and Ody's forced charisma a lot better than some I've seen. He absolutely would have been in damage control mode and rightly peeved at Eurylochus while trying to keep the peace among his crew. There's no weird BL angle to their interactions that downplays how quick thinking and capable Odysseus is. Your expressions are phenomenal. such a simple style but it conveys exactly what it needs to ^-^

OH DID THE GODS SEND YOU CUZ I FEEL LIKE I'VE NEEDED THAT IN MY LIFE FOR SO LONG 🙏 but completely serious now! I've hoped for such great animatic to Luck Runs Out since the song release, especially because it's one of my favourites and OH HOW SATISFIED AM I I literally could write a whole paragraph about almost every part of it (and I might do it later, when I have more time) because I find it so WELL-THOUGHT and COMPLEX. I am utterly blown away by some of the references and the way you managed to portrayal the character of Odysseus as this cunning man trying to fight and hide part of himself behind his charisma (which makes him terrifying at times AND I LOVE THAT). Also I adore the fact that Eurylochus is accompanied with the crew (and how it irritates Odysseus) and all his expressions showing his attitude so well. This is such a great work, not only satisfying but also helping discover some new depth in the song and that's what I love so much in this fandom!

I mean, for all the doubt cast on Odysseus, they ended up being right in the end. Everyone but him died during the journey even if most of it was due to arrogance and disobedience/lack of trust in their leader.

Which you can't blame Eurylochous for. While it was remarkable how he didnt lose his man during the war, he should have know some shit was bound to happen during the journey back. Like the song said, "luck runs out" If anything, the crew opening the bag was a blessing in disguise. Had they not, Poseidon would have sunk whole Ithaca.
