Lucille Ball // Screen Actress

Ойын-сауық

I wanted this to be so much better.. I'm not happy with it but I've spent so much time on it I thought I'd upload it anyway. The point of this video was to show her other career. Lucille Ball was more than Lucy Ricardo. She was a movie actress long before she became the queen of comedy. =)

I am so moved by this work. Not only Lucy but your work in doing this. I will say to you that I grew up as a child alone with just my mom. Every night she would go to work and put me to sleep I would wait til she left for her job at the market and then wake up and turn on the black and white philco television set and watch Lucy. She was so much more than that. She has been honored truly by this video. Thank you so much for letting us see how deep she was. I will always remember and Love you lucy

Watch all these films all year long. All entertaining, and I have a few favorites, based on what I was buying when first starting my movie collection. Began with the Laser Disc format in 1990, and a double disc set of DuBarry Was a Lady and Best Foot Forward was giving to me that years Christmas. Lucille was my mother's employer for a number years and we still love her!

This actually moved me... great job. I wished you could have mentioned in the comments which movies these were. There was a movie she was in where she had a small part where she waltzed in wearing this gorgeous ensemble that included harem pants and sat on some guys lap. She definitely had poise. I wish some more of her movies were on here.

Oh...you did very well. So nice to see her in the different stages of her career. I thought she did very well as a serious actress, but I got the biggest laughs from her comedy. She could do both, but glad she stayed with the smiles which made all of us smile.

They certainly broke the mold with Lucille Ball. She was beautiful, funny, smart, sexy, sassy & didn't settle. Some say she was crass in her life with people, but, you kinda had to be to survive in the business she was in for so many years. She had this unmatched knack of drawing you in & making you want to pull up a seat & stay to watch. She WAS the queen of comedy, I've yet to see someone do what she did so naturally, with the same response from people. When you look at her former work before "I love Lucy" you see JUST how beautiful & dare I say glamorous she was. I miss her, years later, I STILL can't get enough of her. RIP Lucille Ball, my favorite redhead of all time!

Awesome video. Well done. When I watch her in early pictures especially The Big Street I think she's the only one who could have played Jean Harlow had they made a true life story about here & had it been thought of before Lucy became enveloped in the Lucy Ricardo character. She had such was so feminine, beautiful, edgy yet soft. This was a great video, music, clips & all. Thanks so much.

Thank you for that. I don't know Lucille Ball all that well, but this video increased my appreciation for this woman. Nice to see "Sorrowful Jones" in there, and I was also really happy to see that you used her small (and young) role in "Follow the Fleet". The scene where Ginger Rogers calls her in to makeover Harriet Hilliard was fantastic. It wouldn't have fit this video well, but she was so good there. She played it perfectly, which is impressive for such a small character part. Can't wait to see more of this wonderful woman as I continue to explore classic American cinema. P.S. -- Is that the score from "The Holiday" that you used there? It sounded familiar.

Hey, well done on this video! I'm glad there are fans of Lucille Ball even today! She really was the most diligent & talented actress Hollywood ever had. Nowadays, there are just so many crappy movies around & people seem to love them. They need to appreciate people like her! I have a blog golucilleball.blogspot, do take a look at it when you're free! My instructor introduced I Love Lucy to me and since then, I had fallen in love with her. You're absolutely right, she was more than Lucy Ricardo!
