Yes. She says it exactly right, too. She wants him to be happy, but the way he is happy makes her feel sick--that is so honest and harsh, but fair, too. She's just telling it exactly like it is. Really brilliant stuff right there.

Many times irl we really dont hear those stuff. So maybe they just wanna keep it that way.

The truth is Lucifer wasn't truly happy with eve. He just wanted to be with someone who accepted him which is completely understandable but he was only pretending to be happy and didn't even like who he was with eve.

I think it was kinda the same thing with Chloe and pierce, Chloe didn’t truly love pierce, he just gave her the love and affection that she wanted, unlike Lucifer.

The thing is that Lucifer thought after Chloe rejected who he was that he needed to be who he was. The problem is that he regressed millenia instead of staying true to who he had become. The fact that Eve accepted and even encouraged who he had been was intoxicating as no one had ever really done that for him in the past. He turned full force into it because he drastically needed to feel as though someone could look at who he was and accept it. Chloe hurt him. Baaaaaaaaaaaad. And I honestly don't think they examined that as much as they should have beyond a few select scenes...but his time with Eve was very clearly him trying to find who he was at that time. He does care for Eve. Very much. But he doesn't love her.

@@nostaIgiaholic I was totally on board with the Peirce thing in season 3 at first. It made sense, Lucifer was purposely going out of his way to push Chloe from him. The show made that clear. So it made sense that Chloe felt like she had misread things with Lucifer and decided to go with someone who was willing to be with her. The issue I had was the writing basically destroyed Chloe's credibility when it took things to far. He almost telling Lucifer she Loved Marcus, her almost yelling Marcus that asv well. Then her saying yes to marry him. Her having sex with Pierce at work then saying they came together. These were not traits that we can associate with Chloe and it really was bad writing.

All there scenes hit the feels😭💗

The regret she expressed is so huge here. She realized that the only reason it's Eve and not her was because she doubted herself. She's always known who Lucifer is deep down. She spent 3 seasons telling him she knows the man inside. She let her self doubt cloud her thinking and it destroyed what she knows would have made her happy. This isn't just jealousy she's feeling, it's regret that she didn't trust herself more

Why do you think he couldn't hear it WHILE asleep, there's humans who could've, my dad being one of those humans, so why couldn't he??

I wonder if there will be a flashback to this in season 5, him admitting he heard all this. The reality of why them actually being together will be really difficult- not because he's the devil, but just they are so different in personalities and lifestyles. As much as I adore their love and relationship dynamic, I will be amazed if the writers can find a way to make it work!

In season 4, the theme is _acceptance._ In season 5, it will be _worthiness._ Season 4 could be called _"A Tale of Two Lovers"._ Thanks to being around Chloe, Lucifer has changed, presumably for the better. His first girlfriend, Eve, remembers _"the old Lucifer"_ and his devilish side. For much of the season, Eve and Chloe hang on to the part of Lucifer they prefer, basically *rejecting* the other part. Lucifer longs for acceptance of *ALL* of him. There you have most of Season 4!

@@ChaplainDaveSparks and yet on the second stakeout in the same episode lucifer said that he liked work because it made him want to be a better man. So lucifer was already leaning towards chloe without realizing it

She wanted to speak her heart out and express to him how she really feels, but at the same time didn't want him to hear it, hence said it while he was asleep

This scene and the second car scene in this episode were so needed for us Deckerstar fans. The first one established that Chloe excepts Lucifer now and wants to be with him. The second established that Lucifer feels like a better man when he is at work and he loves work. It also established that work=Chloe. Chloe picked up on the double meaning and it really helped her to keep pushing on with Lucifer.

Lucifer buries his emotions and pain into sinful acts and debauchery, where as Chloe uses it to do good for everyone around her, if you think about it they both have very similar beginnings. Lucifer, God's one above all others, a gift to Gods creation lost his father in a way after the rebellion, his mother had plans for him that he never wanted, he wanted to forge his own path in life, and in the end, followed in his fathers footsteps as of season 5. Chloe, lost her father, after being pressured by her mother to do something she was never all that interested in (Acting) where as lucifer was pushed to be king of hell) she then abandons this to become a police officer and follows in her dads footsteps. Lucifer wears his heart on his sleeve, where as Chloe keeps her cards close to her chest. Two sides of the same coin, the one thing they both believe in though is justice, right and wrong, and doing better. That's why Gods whole plan was for Lucifer to meet Chloe, because she was the missing piece that would help Lucifer ascend as that was always God's plan for Lucifer, hence why he was the Greatest amongst all

It would've been hilarious if the second she finished talking he said duely noted with his eyes closed

I honestly think he heard her talking. Probably not all of them. I think he had woken up after he stop snoring but then he hear her talking about him and couldn't really open his eye.

My heart ❤ so many times 💔 😢 wanted to explode with this show.

LOL after being pissed off in season 1 that people attribute him to goats, it was hilarious to find out that part of that is true 😂

This scene hit me the most from watching this show after a breakup with the person who I really thought was the love of my life, how I'm happy she is happy but I'm not happy at the same time and it makes me sick so the writing in this scene felt too real to me.

I was actually happy Lucifer was with Eve, mostly because it made Chloe jealous she needed to understand what Lucifer felt, when she basically cheated on him with Pierce

Cheated on him? Wtf? When they were getting together he ghosted her for two weeks and came back married to another woman, and of course he did that for good reasons, but Chloe didn't know that and they stayed friends and partners until she met Pierce and started dating him. Lucifer was even the one who pulled them close in order to let her be with someone she chose, not someone she's supposed to have feelings for, so how did Chloe cheat on him exactly?

Always horrible when a relationship gets stuck in a “I hate when you’re happy” rut.

No matter how much I want this to be true, Lucifer wouldn't try to manipulate her, even in the slightest.

I like that they are redeeming this character, but can't they make him as impulsive as he used to be and SLIGHTLY scarier. Unlike some people who want him to be a monster like in the comics.
