Alice's voice is like Liquid gold and Lucie's was like sweet wine. ^^ Both are beautiful and fulfilling.

wow this girl sings.. no matter it was acting or not, this was best singing of her..

by far the best contestant to have ever walked onto that stage. beautiful performance. she can sing anything from my funny valentine to sweet child of mine.

I agree with Simon, this is one of my favorite songs and this was more theatrical but not a bad job this song is a classic.

Years ago - back in the mid eighties - Linda Ronstadt teamed up with Nelson Riddle to create a three album grouping of standards called "Round Midnight." As a song on one of the albums of the trilogy, she performed Lush Life. It was wowable at the time. Then, in 2014, along came a collaboration between Tony Bennett and pop rocker Lady Gaga, who recorded an album "Cheek To Cheek." On that album was a solo song, Lush Life, by this pop rocker, Lady Gaga. The most stunning version of the song song I've ever heard. Game, set, match. That is what Simon was touting about Lucie's performance. Lucie did a splendid performance of Funny Valentine. However, it didn't have the "wow," the sultry sexy attitude that Alice gave the song. There is no comparison of the two singers. It is all personal taste. I prefer, like I think the mainstream does, Alice's version. That takes nothing away from Lucie. She did VERY well!

pleasant enough but doesn't hold a candle to Alice Fredenham's performance on BGT

It's been more than two years and I still think that this has been the best performance on the Xfactor ever (with DIana Vickers' Call Me ranks second). It's not karaoke, it's not overfilled with big notes just to say "look at my voice" and thus it manages to pack a punch when she hits those notes. Plus, even though she's still, because of her expressions and the overall arrangement, she doesn't feel frozen.

yeah, Alice's version is much better BUT she doesn't have the range this girl has. I'll tell you is Lucie did a Karen Carpenter song, she'd show just how great she is. She has that low register and the lungs to hold a note.

That missing thing, which Simon couldn't exactly explain, appeared four years later, and that was the beautiful and unsurpassable performance of Alice Fredenham in April 2013. Lucie sings beautifully, but as David Walliams told to Alice that night, She performed like a goddess. It was unique because Alice herself couldn't recreate the same performance of emotion and sensuality singing My Funny Valentine.
