I like how her fingers are able to soar all over the place, and yet still work. I'm a clarinetist, and at least there, it's a big thing not to let your fingers fly like that unless you're naturally good at that.

As a recorder player I’m constantly in trouble because my fingers soar all over the place. But, as you say, she manages to make it work even though her fingers are all over
@austin7
4 жыл бұрын
Because the recorder is such a flexible instrument, keeping your fingers close to the tone holes has a great effect on the intonation (more so than on the clarinet) P.s. I play clarinet and recorder(:
@a.k7889
4 жыл бұрын
But aren't the key holes in the clarinet not only larger (meaning it's harder for your WHOLE FINGER to land on it properly if you're playing super fast) and secondly, perhaps the fact that you have to stretch your hands much more to reach all the keys on the clarinet? I figure those two things would make what she's doing here difficult on the clarinet?
Good Lord. That girl and her playing. Had no idea the recorder could be played like that.
I've been showing this to my fourth and fifth grade classes to demonstrate that this instrument is, in fact, a legit musical instrument, not a little kid's noise-maker. Even though few of us will ever play at your level, your music inspires us with what is possible. Thanks so much for sharing it.

Here is another for your classes. It is more contemporary, but an amazing application of the instrument. If you watch close, he plays one recorder, then two at the same time, then flute, then back to recorder. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aniBp9uKdrrcoag.html
It’s so sad that the recorder has this bad image because of kids having to learn it in school. This is pure perfection ❤️
@jean-yvesPrax

You're right, it's pure perfection when it's played perfectly - but there are other reasons in the "adult" world: 1/ when you have a recorder player training 6 h/d on the next appartement... soon or late you'll think about committing a murderer - lol 2/ I have played in a baroque opera (Campra) with about 80 musicians & singers... and one single recorder : believe me (I have the record) you hear only the recorder!
