Lucca Italy | Walking the Timeless Streets of Lucca - Tuscany’s Walled City! | Italy VLOG

Is Lucca worth visiting? 🤔
We've been frequent visitors to Tuscany’s enchanting walled city of Lucca for the last 10 years, and in this Lucca Italy Walking Tour video, we’ll be sharing with you why we've fallen in love with this Tuscan gem, and why we think it is a MUST VISIT when in Tuscany, even if you only have one day in Lucca!
From its historic streets to some of the city’s hidden treasures that many tourists miss when visiting, we invite you to join us on this relaxing Sunday stroll as we guide you through some of the BEST THINGS TO DO IN LUCCA TUSCANY.
We’ll also throw in some useful and money saving tips along the way.
Highlights shared in this video include:
Arriving in Lucca by train
Our first helpful tip - We share our first stop after leaving Lucca train station, especially if you need a toilet break.
Where to eat in Lucca
We take you inside two of our favourite cafes located inside the wall that always make the perfect cappuccino and offer the most delicious selection of fresh pastries.
We also show where you can enjoy a unique dining experience for lunch or dinner sitting almost inside the wall.
Tourist Information Centres
There are a few tourist information centres located inside the walls of Lucca, and we point out two of the best ones and why we think so.
Cathedrals, Towers and Bastions
We give you a sneak peek inside Lucca’s two largest cathedrals, San Martino and San Frediano, pass by the Guinigi Tower, famously known for its rooftop garden, and take you for a walk through two of our favourite Bastions (Bulwarks).
Lucca Bus Station & Bus Ticket Money Saving Tip
We point out the central bus station and how to save money when purchasing your bus tickets.
Walking the Walls of Lucca
No visit to Lucca is complete without experiencing the magic of walking or riding a bike along the beautiful Wall of Lucca and taking in the beauty of the Tuscan countryside, whilst gaining a unique perspective of what exists inside the walled city.
And much, much more in this Lucca Travel Guide.
After watching our Lucca Travel VLOG, we think you may never need to do another, “What to do in Lucca Italy?” online search again.
And if you’re asking the question, “Is Lucca Italy Safe?”, we say ABSOLUTELY; however, as everyone has their own definition of what ‘safe’ is, we’ll leave it to you to do your own research and decide for yourself.

Wow guys, what a great video. I visited Lucca for the first time in October 2013. I saw the bushes and flowers that spelled out LUCCA in piazza Napoleone and it was love at first sight. This city is a gem and along with a few special people, Lucca has captured my heart forever. ❤ Thank you for your thorough tour of my favorite place in the world.

You guys create some really well crafted videos that combine well captured images, with cleverly matched soundtracked music, and really useful insights/tips. This is a particular city of interest to us, and so this has been such a perfect introduction and a city guide.

Anton and Bella, thank you very much for your video about Lucca! It has been the most informative video I have seen :) Since you are open to questions, I would like to ask one: My husband and I will be doing a daytrip from Florence to Lucca and Pisa. I understand that Lucca needs a day on its own, but we don't have the time to split the two cities into 2 days. So what would you recommend - going first to Lucca and then taking the train to Pisa or the reverse? It would be our first time in both locations. The trip is in the beginning of May, so the day is long (I know it's far in the future, but I'm very excited and planning the itenarary from now 😂). Thank you very much! ❤

Hi Inna, Thank you for watching and we're happy to hear you found this video so informative. 🙂 To provide you with some considerations for your day trip from Florence to Pisa & Lucca here is what we think is best way to maximise your time exploring both cities in one day: Yes Lucca really deserves a day, and if you have seen our Pisa video kzread.info/dash/bejne/oaenzcFufMrcoto.html you will see that there is so much more to Pisa than just the monument area too, and it also deserves a full day visit. (We definitely consider you also watch this video if you haven't already.) However, given you only have one day, we would suggest going to Pisa first and catch the earliest train from Florence to Pisa San Rossore Station (closest stop to the monuments area). This will ensure you beat all the crowds that start arriving from 10am onwards. It is much more relaxing to explore Pisa when there aren't thousands of other visitors doing the same at the same time. You can then make your way on foot to Pisa Centrale (very pretty relaxing walk) on the other side of town and catch a train to Lucca and enjoy the afternoon and evening there before getting the train back to Florence. The last train from Lucca to Firenze SMN, depending on the day leaves around 2230 so you will have had a chance to enjoy several hours in both Lucca and Pisa by the time you return to Florence. Hope this helps a little with your future plans. Let us know if we can help you with anything else. Thanks again. ❤
