Luc Stephen on Supreme, Fat Cat, Pappy Mason, Facing 40 Years, Being Film Producer (Full Interview)

Ойын-сауық

In this full-length interview, renowned writer and filmmaker Luc Stephen talks about being born in his native country of Haiti in the late sixties before moving to Jamaica Queens (NYC) after a brief stint in Boston, Massachusetts. He also shares details about turning to a life of "sneak thieving" and drug dealing after being kicked out of his mother's home. As the Q&A session moves along, he talks about doing his first bid in prison, being released, and subsequently getting back into the drug game during the cocaine era. From there, he breaks down the intricacies of drug dealing, wholesale prices, and some of the key names in the game back then. Later in the interview, he talks about being a fugitive for eight years and getting apprehended by the feds for a bank robbery that he was not directly involved in.
As the interview nears a conclusion, Luc talks about getting out of prison for the last time in 2005 before revealing that his initial plan was to work as a personal trainer. From there, he talks about getting his big break into the TV/Film industry when he took part in the "Fat Cat" episode of 'American Gangster' on BET. The following season, he contributed to the show as a consultant. Lastly, he talks about creating his production company 'Second Chance Enterprises,' his evolution as a filmmaker, and the legacy that he wants to leave behind for his grandkids.

Out of all the street interviews I’ve watched this was probably the best one I’ve seen. Just the breakdown of the mental mindset of why dudes get into the Street Life and the intricacies of how things worked financially was something I’ve never seen in an interview before. 💯

@@lucstephensecondchanceente9868 I hopped off the porch in the 90’s and was taking trips from Baltimore to NY by the time I was 19. So to hear someone talk about what a “touter” is, what number the Dope take and how the profit margin might be lower but because of the quick flip you’ll see the money faster, even the difference in the type of women you could get was just something I’ve never seen someone talk about before. Even the mindset of how we didn’t realize we were destroying our communities. Much respect to you.. just being here able to tell your story is a Blessing 🙏🏾

Hardest Hard...lol.. prices went down as the years went on....because of the influx of weed...before legal weed and colorado...was Kentucky... I find these interviews interesting.. because of the period.. I have iconic flicks on 158th and Amsterdam...lmaooo.....from the early 80s...Jackson Heights and Lefrak in the 70s... Boy George.... Cutlass Supreme King... Out of all the cars this guy had... his custom cutlass was literally a batmobile... Complete with smoke and grease traps... And suped up engines... Him and Flip from Amsterdam Houses used to be at my bar at the Parrot like religion every friday... Funny ass story...I hadnt been uptown in YEARS...was working with a latino coalition securing work... and end up right on 158th between amsterdam and bway... building a school... lol..Like honestly...I have no idea what happened on that block from 86- 2005... lmaooo..19 years... In fact...Pete may have it right...because on the east side...120ish and second .. mid nineties the dro was plentiful... lol
