Kadota tends not to have a great flavor in our area, maybe 1/10 are good. They don't do well with rain, bursting, humidity, and too much water washes out the flavor a lot too.

Is Improved Celeste good enough to ignore everything else after a time?

Honestly no. There are a lot of great "regular" Celeste fig trees. Check out lou Monte's channel and he talks in depth about the Celeste fig.
