Elated to see such a clear explanation of the technical challenges harpists encounter. The late Gail Barber was my best friend, and I used to watch her marking the pedal changes and changing music composed as if the harp were a piano to something that can actually be played on the harp. This brought back such wonderful memories and was presented in a truly helpful way. Thank you for bringing tears to my eyes.

I came across this video via the double bass tuition....and I just thought I'd have a listen. But man....I couldn't look away. A lovely way you have about you Karen, and not patronising at all. And the hours that must have gone into that...I am so impressed. And practice? Ain't like you can lug it about. Very glad I stopped by.

But i think its one of those instruments that takes an insane amount of work and practice and it pays off by an absolutely splendid sound. Much respect

@Vaylemn No musician starts out needed the most expensive instruments. It's an investment over time. I'm a cellist, and when I first started 16 years ago I rented instruments. Then I paid payments toward a student level cello, and traded that for a higher quality one and the same for my professional quality one now. There is no sure way of knowing you are serious about music for the long hall at the beginning. (But yes, piano's are very expensive but you wouldn't start with a grand piano.)
