You're welcome!
So John, which lid is your go-forward choice? Didn't see any discussion of the results. Or maybe I missed it somewhere? And don't you already have the Kong divider and corners for the OEM lid that are stated to provide pretty good benefits? What are your plans there? Thanks again for the efforts and really good videos. I continue to refer to your build as I progress on putting my ZR1 project together.

I still need to post my latest dyno session results. 1041/1009 uncorrected 999/972 SAE. Best performing lid was the oem LS9 with C&R bricks without the airfoils & divider. Which i have done my own prototype dimple porting too. That's my choice going foward.

@@JohnFrancoNH Hey John, thanks for the timely and complete response. I'll be looking for the upcoming dyno episode, but until then, you've helped me out with the information I needed. Gracias. And just a comment; I can tell you actually read what folks write... in entirety and while thinking. Refreshing. Thank you.

What did you do with the DSX lid?
Awesome testing , do you think the divider in the middle of DSX one caused less power ?
@JohnFrancoNH
2 жыл бұрын
yes i think the airfoils and divider take up room in the lid and does not maximize plenum volume.

I wonder if a small spacer was added to the bottom of the DSX lid to raise it up a little and make it the same height as the other lids if it would make more power.
Hey i was curious your opinion on something. I have a 2010 zr1 modded. Btr stage 3 pds cam ported heads ported blower and snout aftermarket radiator additional cooling tank and i dont know the pulley size but it is smaller also. Its tuned for e85 last tune i had it was 811 hp at crank and 16psi boost. Im saying all of this to ask you i found out this week, the intercooler bricks in the supercharger are stock and i have read of stock ones failing under higher boost. Would you recommend installing the c&r bricks in there ?

Yes hands down C&R bricks 100%. Do not mess with "reinforced bricks" or any other made in china junk bricks out there.

How do you like the bsr shaft rockers? I'm interested in getting a set for my ls7.

Hands down the best options for LS engines you get a super stiff one piece shaft design and extremely durable bronze bushings the best of both worlds
How does the oem lid function better than the kong lid which has a much bigger brick size?
@JohnFrancoNH
2 жыл бұрын
the OEM lid has more air plenum volume before and after the bricks. The dual pass has one large restrictive brick that feeds air unevenly into cylinders. The Kong chinese made brick core acts as a bottleneck when sealed 100% like OEM bricks. Thanks for watching!

@@JohnFrancoNH WOW.... I was debating on the Kong lid :o I seen a video where the guys showed it was flexing on top but can't find it now :(
Do you have any experience with the Kong HD bricks vs the C&R by chance?
@JohnFrancoNH
2 жыл бұрын
yes had the Kong HD before switching to C&Rs. No regrets, C&Rs perform better in recovery and have more surface area
