I love this helmet. I use it for touring and I find it pretty quiet for this type of helmet. When you have a lot of vents you can expect this. It seems heavy to me but I have a bad neck. Best fitting helmet I have ever owned. Fits my head perfect. For the money you cannot beat it.

@John Leslie To me it's snug. Compared to my Shark helmets. It really fits like it supposed to.

This IS a summertime helmet. I just got one the end of January and the cold air could not be stopped. This lid flows more air than my Icon Variant Construct. The clear shield is a bit distorted towards the bottom at the tightest bend. I also wish the drop down visor would drop down a bit more cause peripherally the bottom of the nose cut-out of the visor can be seen. For the price, I do recommend it.

I was contemplating buying this as a snowmobile helmet. Gonna be in the attic circle though. Suppose you wouldnt recoment for that kind of cold?

i have one and i use my level u pro with it easy . and its not noisy at all its vents are really satisfying for me . i love this helmet . the looks on it without its cap is so dope 2

Got one the other day, it’s surprisingly light and would recommend, noisy if riding at any high speeds but if you wearing ear plugs which you should be you’ll notice nothing.

Good Helmet my Oakley Crowbars fit under the shield I also like the ratchet system buckle

I have one and i ride dirt bikes in Washington and it works great and it even works with my glasses and the sun shade. Doesn't hit them

I own this helmet and it's amazing if you find it to noisy I suggest taking the sun visor off. Really makes it a much quieter helmet. I love this helmet

Can you remove the peak alone while retaining the face shield for highway riding? I want not able to put the face shield without having the peak installed as well.

I own this helmet and I think it is a great looking and very light weight (1300g ) And considering the price of around £90 here in the U.K. I would consider it a bargain compared to some. I have ridden in heavy rain with this helmet and I really did not notice any water ingress. I agree its not the quietest of helmets but its also not the worst I've ridden. I ride a Super Tenere 1200 and have traveled at high speed many times and have never had an issue with this helmets performance in all weathers.

Heyy, it has a normal visor locking mechanism, but everytime after about 10 seconds of closing it, it unlocks by itself and opens up about 3mm of space between the bottom of the helmet and the visor, any tips? It just wont stay closed and it doesn't click, just rubber resistance

I'm guessing you can just unscrew the plastic visor and take it off when you wish?

This helmet is small for listed size. I would normally take an extra large, (1X) but had to go with a 3X!? If you want air flow, this is your helmet. Bummer is, (like he said in the video,) you cannot close those vents. Cold weather is going to suck. I also would have preferred a normal D ring buckle arrangement. FYI, this helmet is NOISY AS HELL! Ear plugs are a must at any speed, especially at hwy./freeway speeds. There is only a thin flap of material between your ears, and the Styrofoam liner. Thicker padding might have helped reduce noise somewhat? I would have also preferred if the helmet rode lower on the back of the neck. I have never had a helmet that rode so high in the back. (feels a little weird.) Got it for a good price. Kinda wish I had held off, and got something else to be perfectly honest. It IS a quality helmet, just got some "issues/limitations".

Weird question - You said it's intermediate oval but I'm seeing other sites listing it as long oval. Listing error or is it just somewhere in between? (Full disclosure: Looking for helmets to fit my ENORMOUS gourd [25.75 inches] that runs sorta in between long and intermediate evidently [Scorpion AT-950 fit great but had two pretty points on my forehead/upper brow] - Every site seems to have great returns but I'd rather avoid needing to do a 20-helmet shuffle.)

I'm so impressed with your speed talking. Where'd you learn that?

Hi Revzilla! Im from the Philippines and i would like to try out this lid. I ride to work and most of my riding is ON road and the rains we have here are quite torrential. Also hopefully i'll be switching to a versys 650 which is a sport touring-ish bike. I thought buying a dual sport helmet would be a good decision. Ls2 has been our go to brand in terms on quality and affordability here in my country. Well, as you've laid the pros & cons of this lid its kinda leaning on the negative side for me. But the thing is , i really would like to try out a dual sport helmet. Can i give this a go? or Can you suggest another lid preferably with Ls2 :) I've following your channel for quite sometime and i love your reviews! Hoping you could help me out here, much love from the Philippines! ;)

Honestly, the Pioneer isn't a bad helmet. If you want a dual sport helmet with an internal sun visor, it's a really good option. Do you know how to disassemble this helmet?

The major thing that has bugged me about this helmet is that the strap gives your neck no space at all. Maybe that's just the issue with the quick release system, it almost chokes you.

Watch his earlier video from like 5 years ago, and he is so fast you can barely take in what he's saying.

I have one of these, over 100kmh (62mph) they are Unbelievably noisy, they are not suitable for road use.

If you tape some of the side vents it reduces noise

does the peak detach? I'd assume so but he didn't mention it in the video.

If you want an internal sun visor, you'd want to step up to the Scorpion EXO-AT950. Arai Signet X for road, ls2 for offroad. That's it... from personal experience I love the ARAI name, and the Signet was the first time I felt like a helmet fit my head, but for going off road 6 times a year, you can't beat the pricing and I was legitimately surprised by the build quality, plus I don't want to scratch up my Arai!

Though it's a little tricky, you can install most comm systems using an adhesive mount and still mount the speakers inside. If you ride for a long time in torrential rain with the vents or face shield open, then you'd get some water inside the helmet. Otherwise, you should be fine. -DrewZilla

Is it possible to exchange cheek pads for fit, ie medium with cheek pads from a small to dial the fit in?

It's only possible within certain sizes, because there are 3 shell sizes used across the size range. You can exchange between XS and small, medium and large, and then within XL/2X/3X. See the details on the product page linked below to see what I mean. It won't help. Size small cheek pads are 35mm, while size medium cheek pads are 40mm. If you need thinner cheek pads, then you'd want the size large 35mm pads. You cannot get any thicker cheek pads in the size medium. 40mm is already the thickest for your shell. -DrewZilla

O'Neal Sierra 2 or LS2 Pioneer? What would you say is better?

They both offer very similar construction and features: ABS/KPA shells, internal sun visors, and adjustable peak visors. The main difference is that the Pioneer has a long oval interior fit, while the Sierra II has a neutral oval fit (between intermediate oval and round oval). Therefore, I recommend you decide based on your own head shape. If a lot of helmets tend to give you forehead pressure, then you'd likely want the Pioneer. RevZilla I dont know what headshape I have, till now I got a LS2 MX456 and it fits me and I tried an Oneal 2 series and it was good too. But thanks for the fast answer. So you would say they are the same the only difference is the head shape?

The vents are not closable? That´s not correct. You CAN close the vent at the chinbar! There is a small (but easy to use also with thick gloves) slider at the INSIDE of the chinbar. So the slider to open or close the vent is not destoying the look of the chinbar at the outside. :) And it works perfectly.

Not through the chinbar vents. But the top vents are not closable. So a little bit of water get into the helmet on the top. For a little bit more of noise reduction, I covered the side vents with tape. So no water comes through this vents ;)

Yes, that one does close. But the others don't, and that is where the majority of the air flow into the helmet comes from. Chin vent doesn't really do much open or closed. (At lest not on mine.) So that "vent" is closeable, but the rest of the "VENTS" are not.

Is it come with the visor and the visor have pinlock?

Nope! Many dual sport riders wear helmets like this on the street. For whatever reason, a lot of stunters (who are definitely NOT noobs) wear these helmets as well. Just bear in mind that the visor can cause drag at high speeds. -TeamZilla Chris

4:30 Unfortunately, there isn't enough space to fit speakers comfortably, but you could run molded earbuds with a compatible communicator like the PackTalk, SmartPack, and Freecom from Cardo or the Sena 20S and 10S. -DrewZilla

This dual sport helmet is designed for adventure touring, where you would be riding both on-road and off-road. Off-road, the helmet is good for technical dirt riding. On-road, you have a face shield and sun visor for touring comfort. For a lot of on-road riding, you can remove the peak visor for better aerodynamics. -DrewZilla
