    Damn, with the title of the vid, I was hoping we were going to go into the structure and engineering & explain how GM has so completely kicked everyone's ass with what can be considered such an archaic design. There are so many example vids of people/magazines taking basic, high mileage 5.3L truck engines, throwing in a couple bolt-ons & dynoing 4-600 hp repeatedly without them coming apart.

    I think hot rod did a write up on a bone stock 4.8 truck engine with twin turbos. It handled 30lb of boost and made 1300 hp with no other mods

    I love it and would consider buying but I am a high RPM freak, whist still wanting the key torque and power elements. Playing around with old 5-6K shift points is not for me as I run Circuit, Strip and Daily Driver (hence its tricky to find the blend). 496ci has rotating mass issues I know, but.. If it rolled out to 7,000 or 7,500rpm and was endurance built I would be keen. As a Crate motor what is the $$$. I'm looking to custom "over-build" as endurance based on RHS Aluminium race block, or go crate engine in January 2016 - its a VE Commodore in Australia.

    Why is the intake shape making so much difference when all it is doing is directing the air to the cylinders? All the fuel is being injected just before the heads, after all the twist and turns (or lack of them) in the intake...right? Please edgumicate me!

    LS Talldeck 502? Just for shits and gigs? How bout a 2.3l supercharger like the heartbeat.. how would you build a motor around that? I know you'd want to sell the x-ram, but how does it compare to the likes of the holley dual "carby" highrise?

    If I take a 5.3 L and bored it to the same size as a 6.0 liter used 6.0 heads Pistons rods and crankshaft would my 5.3 make the same power as a 6.0 liter

  • @LaserLuther

    @LaserLuther

    6 жыл бұрын

    Because it would be a 6.0. Most people bore 5.3's to a 3.90 bore that makes them a 5.7 like an LS1. 6.0 uses the same rods and crank as the 5.3 only difference is gen 3 to gen 4.
