The second verse relates to me so much. I lost my Dad at 14 and he never got to see me grow into the 26 year old man I am today. Never met the love of my life who brung me the Apple of my eye in my first son. I wish he was here to see what we've all achieved. To see my boy. This song man, just beautiful.

@@sx4fa It might not seem it at the moment but you will learn to cope youngin. You'll learn to deal with it one day at a time, And you'll always think about him every day. If music helps then stick with it, do what ever you need to do to get by.

Hey man, I'm 21 now. I lost my dad at 16. I'm really sorry to hear that and unfortunately we share that burden that I don't wish on anyone. Just wanna say I love you man and life is still yours for the taking. Trust the universe. That's what I try and do day in and day out.
This song is just gorgeous.
My two favourite artists in one track. Wow.

This song saved my life and my outlook on grief and dealing with the loss of a parent. I lost my mum in 2020 and knowing that I’ll never get to share the journey of being a dad of now and her not being able to see me raise my daughter how she raised me breaks my heart. Life dealing with the grief of parent loss is a bittersweet journey of emotions. To anyone who is struggling with grief and loosing a parent I hear you ❤️

Yo Sam, I'm in the exact same situation as you. Discovered Loyle while I was waiting in hospital for my daughter to be born and then lost my mum in the same year. You'll never realise the impact this comment had on me ❤ Love.
Never knew I needed this collab, deeply beautiful.
I can't listen to this song without tearing up. In these past 2 years, ive cried more than the rest of my entire life. I know better days will come but damn, life really has its lows.

Beautiful song from the heart. Someone started peeling onions. Very relevant. RIP Dad ❤️💯
It’s so good to hear Jorja’s voice on this 😍
Loyles music is so soothing ..there’s that chill vibe to it that speaks to me everythings gon be alright
Yes. No possible way this collab could produce something less than a jam.
This song is magical, Jorjas gorgeous voice and Loyle’s moving gut punching lyrics are simply sheer perfection. Mere words are so inadequate in expressing how this song makes me feel.

Utterly, extraordinarily, imperially beatiful. I have no words to describe how this makes me feel.
Saw him in Waterford's 'All Together Now' festival last week. He was phenomenal. An absolute powerhouse of talent and humility. Such a gentleman. His mam must be so proud. Lots of love from Ireland bud.
Last verse is pure magic
This album/Song got me through a bad time when I endured a life changing injury, just 6weeks after losing my Grandfather. Big up yourself Loyle, You're the man.

I will hear these two voices for the duration of my life. Absolutely spectacular
The way Loyle Carner writes his lyrics brings tears to my eyes.
Damn... Loyle gets me almost tearing up every time. And Jorja on the chorus.... what a great colab.
I love Loyle Carner's style chill & raw! This hits deep!👌
This song needs to blow up! Real talk 💯
"I wish youd been there when my dad had died", my heart broke for myself and for Ben at the same time
Big fan of both. I must say I love Jorja on this track. Wish I could’ve heard more of this style/side of her on her first album

Something beautiful about this.
He is underratted asf
It’s funny because honestly, I’m 13 and this song is by two amazing artists. Love them both so much and both of them together is an absolute blessing, I hope my dad understands how much I appreciate some of the music he shows me 👍💋x
Loyle mate.. you continue to breathe magic and spit gold, listening to your music never gets old.
It's a REPLAY!🎵🎶 (just beautiful)
Yank here and I absolutely commend this young man for the works he’s provided so far. Without question they’re many more to come and I look forward to them. Jorja has a serene voice if I’ve ever heard one and is just stunning. Try to turn on Americans as much as I can to your material….stay up and stay at it!!
Loyle's voice is so warm and nuanced.
greatest song. Have a good morning guys
Just one word: BEAUTIFUL Love from France
I discovered you about 4 or 5 years ago and I've been listening ever since, you're lyricism has always stood out to me. I love the way you tell a story that can speak to the heart with a track. Keep doing what you're doing.
i listened this song for first time with the love of my life in our vacations way to Scotland, now I’m not with him but just the fact when I close my eyes, tears and emotions coming about how happy and blind I was in that moment.
Loyle has evolved so much since its beginnings but what does not change is that it is still so beautiful ohmygodd
Timeless from you both. Can't count how many times I've listened. ❤
Such a good song
Thanks to Daniel im listing this on REPEAT!!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Thank you Loyle. We've all been going through something in our lives. And it gets hard too. I just want to say that you literally made it so much easier for me. Second and last verse got me for real. When Mac Miller left us I was in an empty place, but you just gave a whole lotta love bro. Keep doing the same vibe mate. And please do not get all high-end like some did. Thank you and God bless you!
Real music.
What a fucking tune this is.
An absolute vibe, the way this tune makes me feel is indescribable. As soon as I heard it got me right in the feels. To top it off Loyle is such a great inspiration and role model, truly blessed to be witnessing the man at work!
There's not enough hearts and like buttons to express how great this is
Most inspiring artist out here!!
This one always make me cry
BEAUTIFUL!!! 😥😢😭
This is absolutely beautiful
The most beautiful song ive ever heard, wow, i love this with all my heart 😭😭
Absolutely beautiful tune, 2 of my favourite artists on one track... Sick ones 👍🔥👌
I have to put my 15 year old dog down in 2 days. This song is helping me get through those final hours with my best friend 😢. Respect Loyle C
Real talent most of the time is left unnoticeable

thank you for telling your journey, healing souls

loyle carner hitting hard with those real af lyrics
[Chorus: Jorja Smith & Loyle Carner] In love, when the going is tough I wait 'til it falls on deaf ears Hearsay, without the boundaries of love My take is, I wish there was a better way Uh, I got a lot of love, a lot of loose ends(Way) A lot of people that I wish I knew then (Way) Friends beckon every second you spend(Way) I'm wettin' the pen, every letter you send Uh, I got a lot of love, a lot of loose ends(Way) A lot of people that I wish I knew then (Way) Friends beckon every second you spend(Way) I'm wettin' the pen, every letter you send [Verse 1: Loyle Carner] Yo, I been listening to Dreamy Days, I'm in disarray I realise it's everybody else who's still astray I feel ashamed, I know there ain't no savin' away They went astray, I went Australia So what I'm supposed to say to 'em? Uh, when all this love's out of range Everything around me changed, I'm supposed to stay the same Turn down these free drinks I couldn't even name And I like all this money, 'cause I'm fuckin' up my brain I been goin' insane, shelf full of family remains Brokenhearted is seein' none of them again I, I pour the glass, stick my head out in the rain Try and find another person I can blame Sat upon this plane, uh And yo, I'm prayin' that we don't crash 'Cause every night, I shiver at the sight when we go back 'Cause every night could be my last, and yeah, I know that So I crack a smile 'fore it goes black, trust [Chorus: Jorja Smith & Loyle Carner] In love, when the going is tough I wait 'til it falls on deaf ears Hearsay, without the boundaries of love My take is, I wish there was a better way Uh, I got a lot of love, a lot of loose ends(Way) A lot of people that I wish I knew then (Way) Friends beckon every second you spend(Way) I'm wettin' the pen, every letter you send Uh, I got a lot of love, a lot of loose ends(Way) A lot of people that I wish I knew then (Way) Friends beckon every second you spend(Way) I'm wettin' the pen, every letter you send [Verse 2: Loyle Carne] Trust, uh, I wish you'd been there when my dad had died I, I wish you'd been there when my mother cried I, I wish you'd been there in the drag of night To see my side, look me in my eyes when I was paralysed And tell me everything's alright and push it to the side It's just a sacrifice, at times, I told a bag of lies But not a pack of lies, we always told a couple ones Of course it was true, you only knew me from the dramatise I feel an agonising risk, 'cause in a thousand islands This is where I really wanna be when we were cracking wise 'Cause it was black and white, literally black and white White from my mother and my father was the blackest skies Skies, I, I can see it's true I, I see my mother up in you Shit, I think my dad'd see it too Yo, I just wish he knew, uh [Chorus: Jorja Smith & Loyle Carner] In love, when the going is tough I wait 'til it falls on deaf ears Hearsay, without the boundaries of love My take is, I wish there was a better way Uh, I got a lot of love, a lot of loose ends(Way) A lot of people that I wish I knew then (Way) Friends beckon every second you spend(Way) I'm wettin' the pen, every letter you send Uh, I got a lot of love, a lot of loose ends(Way) A lot of people that I wish I knew then (Way) Friends beckon every second you spend(Way) I'm wettin' the pen, every letter you send [Verse 3: Loyle Carne] Uh, imagine all the friends you see most Each one you peggin' away Is dependin' on you puttin' pen to the page, uh And so, you break it down, checking they're paid Another day you're heartbreakin', you resented the stage You feel that same rage Watch the crowd, watch the stage thinkin', "Shit" Rather in the crowd with your mates drinkin' Misbehaviours, catch another dame winkin' You feel ashamed, guzzle Jagers, your brain's sinkin' You think it's deep, don't think it's depression A misspent adolescence But all this time, all this time, time's of the essence You would never learn from your lessons You're stuck in that same quintessence Heartbreak, one in the same Days change, but you're stuck in the game It's like, she's tellin' you you're young enough to be at uni Somehow, the one who sees through me
