Good onya for preserving this. I only was aware of the Universal Carrier or Bren Gun Carrier, so learned something new today. Thanks for uploading.
Love it. I would rather have the Lloyd with its eight road wheels than the six-wheeled Universal. A better ride, I feel. Congratulations, sir. Thanks for saving her.👍

Interesting vehicle.
It's new to me.
Croipes, mite - she's a beaudy..
Clearly they survived the war because they were still useful in peacetime. Not too much armour, so relatively fuel efficient and useful as a traction unit in rough terrain.
So the transmission is 100% front axle?
Is it related to the Universal Carrier.

David Jones , both were descended from the Carden Lloyd tankette, with this as a unarmoured load carrier while the universal carrier has the potential for a fighting role. The couple of times I've seen wartime footage of the Lloyd carrier they've been towing guns.

@@ballagh I have seen photos of the in dutch device (indonesian war of independence ) with a vickers machine gun on top!
This type of Carrier with extra batteries was known as the Slave Carrier, but most Loyds were built as gun tractors. It could carry the driver and the 6-man gun crew as well a towing a 6 Pounder A/Tk gun. The Loyd was not armoured, but there was a kit which supplied bolt-on side armour, but this degraded performance.
This little thing VS a Tiger 1... Let's see who win the battle.

It looks like a Carden Lloyd forerunner to the Universal carrier. The British Army used them prior to ww2
