The RUC couldn't have given a hoot what the UVF and UDA got up to, the fact someone shot up a house 50 yards from the RUC station and didn't do anything is disgraceful. In 2024 we can now say the reason most those criminals weren't even arrested was because they were police informers aka touts and could do as they pleased.

I remember watching this on the T.V as a teenage boy in Belfast at the time. Coming from the nationalist side of the divide it was surreal watching the UVF & UDA at war with each other. One thing that Billy Hutchinson said in one of the interviews really took me back though, he said 'I'm sure more will be dead before the weekend is out'. remember when life in Belfast was like that ? We knew for definite that more people would die - the only question was how many ?

Working class unionism has been abandoned by main stream politicians who only want the unionst working class vote. The likes of the DUP ,TUV etc mainstream political parties have totally abandoned working class areas and that leaves a vacuum where groups linked to paramilitary groups move in . Peace should be a desired wish for the provence.

The problem for working class loyalists is they have no elected MLA/MPs representing their own areas. They need to put themselves forward and get elected campaigning for the issues that really matter. “These people are not to be trusted, their interest does not lie in Northern Ireland, their interest is self-interest."
