Friendly reminder that the real reason he doesn't want to cut on old games and "prove his point," is because whenever he has tried in the past, he ends up getting cooked. Often times even harder than he does in newer games, because all he can match up with is people who have been playing those older games since they released. They then proceed to mop the floor with him because they have not slacked on the game in years.

I'm tired of them making fighting games just for them and not us who just want to play and enjoy it.

I thought the main draws of fighting games was prowess in play, but it feels like there's not much of a learning curve to play them much like they used to. The game can be fun outside of ranked like that for sure, but adding some of these instant punish mechanics to a ranked environment seems like a dance of who's going to sneak the super in at the right time. Tekken 3-5 were probably most peak for me. Once rage art was added I saw the downhill and am glad I stayed away from it since.

@@PanicDr So Aris the 40 year old has it set up wherer his donations get "parried" So if I donate a long message, it will get cut off immediately when someone else donates. You could easily set up a macro for a "Fake" donation to come through to block the long messages. There's option to test donate to yourself to set it up to your liking. That's just off the top of my head one of the solutions to block out messages instead of screaming like a child over it.

Don't forget Virtua Fighter and Fatal Fury/Garou: Mark of the Wolves. If he really wants to play FGs without comeback mechanics and simplified controls, those games exist, but of course, we've never seen him try them out. And if he did, he probably abandoned them forever.
